EXCLUSIVE: Mikayla Starrels has joined WME as a digital agent.
Based in the Los Angeles office, the agent will work closely with WME’s digital department to provide clients with a nuanced perspective on how creators drive culture, engage audiences, and build long-term brand value.
Starrels brings extensive brand-side experience in creator partnerships, spanning integrated programs and large-scale experiential activations. She comes to WME after a little more than six years at Paramount Pictures, where she launched an in-house creator marketing team to define the studio’s engagement with creator talent.
During her time at the studio, Starrels oversaw creator campaigns across Paramount’s biggest theatrical releases, including Top Gun: Maverick, Scream and Sonic the Hedgehog franchise installments, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One and The Final Reckoning, Mean Girls, Gladiator II and more.
Speaking to the rationale in hiring Starrels, WME Digital Department Co-Heads Ben Davis & Jad Dayeh explained, “As we scale our creator business, we wanted to add deeper brand-side experience. Mikayla has led creator partnerships on some of the biggest theatrical releases and has built deep relationships across creators and brands. That perspective will be a real asset to our clients.”
Starrels told us, “I’m thrilled to be joining WME, and an innovative team that champions creators to the fullest extent. I’m excited to integrate my experience from the brand side of creator partnerships to drive and expand opportunities in the creator space and for clients at WME.”
WME’s digital roster includes Hannah Berner, Paige Desorbo, Sean Evans, Andrew Huberman, Jay Shetty, Claudia Sulewski, Valkyrae, Theo Von, Paige Lorenze, Mark Rober, Addison Rae, and Amy Poehler, among many others.
