Michael Douglas says he's 'not bad for 82' as he soldiers through 90-minute walk around Central Park

Michael Douglas has given fans a glimpse inside his weekend in New York City, proving he remains in fine fettle as he nears his 82nd birthday.

Douglas posted a video diary of his adventures around Central Park on Sunday, starting off with a look at the Big Apple’s stunning skyline.

‘Oh man, an hour and a half… I’m tired,’ he admitted in a clip of himself walking through the park. ‘Not bad for 82.’

Calling the area ‘magical,’ the Fatal Attraction star, who turns 82 on September 25, told followers he wished they were with him on the ‘beautiful’ day in New York City.

After traipsing through the Strawberry Fields section of the park, Douglas shared: ‘You know what? I need a ride.’

Douglas then introduced his ‘new friend’ Ahmed, a pedicab driver who carted him around for part of the outing. 

‘He is from Egypt and has been living in NYC for 10 years,’ the Basic Instinct actor wrote in an on-screen caption.

Douglas continued: ‘This is one helluva ride!’

It was an ideal sign-off statement for the man who is promoting his book One Helluva Ride, out October 6 and now available for pre-order.

In a caption for his Instagram post, he noted that the book is currently 50 percent off while sharing his joy at returning home.

‘Happy Sunday! Back in NYC… nothing beats a Sunday walk through the park and a ride around town,’ his caption began.

Douglas was recently on vacation in an undisclosed location with wife Catherine Zeta-Jones and their children.

The Welsh star, 56, and the American actor have been married since 2000 and share two children, Dylan, 26, and Carys, 23.

Carys, who graduated from Brown University last year, made her NYC theater debut by taking on a role in Anton Chekhov's play The Seagull in July. 

The production ran from June 20-27 at St. Lydia's in Brooklyn and a viral video on Instagram captured moments from Carys' performance during one of the nights.

The clip came to an end as the cast took a bow for the applauding crowd and she was later seen signing autographs for some attendees.

A friend of Carys told the Daily Mail in May that her famous parents are 'so proud' of their daughter's achievement.

During a conversation with People, she opened up about her desire to follow her passion for acting and performing arts post-college.

'I grew up doing theater, and I didn't study acting in school, but that's why I'm happy to be in such an informative arts space, so hopefully more of that,' Carys told the outlet.

Zeta-Jones expressed on the Today show in 2021 that 'Michael and I would be the first parents to say: "You know, maybe you should think of another career."

'But we've seen how passionate they are about the craft. They know what celebritydom is. They know the good, the bad, warts and all of that.'

The Wednesday star continued: 'But their passion is about acting as a craft and they've done every theater camp...

'My kids went off to summer camp every year, to theater camp with all the Broadway kids, and held their own very, very well, I have to say.'

She explained that Carys and Dylan had a conversation with their father, who is the son of late actor Kirk Douglas.

'One would think that there's so many open doors for people to go into the same business as their parents, but, in fact, one has to really prove themselves more, and it's hard to be compared to.'
