The Very Relatable Way Michael B. Jordan Celebrated His Oscar Win
Michael B. Jordan is certainly not a sinner in the eyes of his niece and nephew.
Indeed, the newly-minted Oscar winner’s saint status was on full display as he enlisted the help of his older sister Jamila Jordan-Theus’ kids Lenox and Zorah to introduce the trailer for his new Netflix animated movie Swapped.
In a video shared to TikTok April 2, Michael sat on the grass alongside Lenox, who delivered the line, “Hi, this is my Uncle Mike!” with a smile as bright as the sunshine yellow shirt he wore.
After Uncle Mike introduced the preview, he leaned over to Zorah and helped her remember her line, “Hope you like it!”
All the while, the Black Panther star’s nephew continued smiling at the camera and, right before the toss to the trailer, waved with both hands and an even bigger smile.
While Michael—who also has a younger brother named Khalid Jordan—had fun working alongside his nephew for the fun clip, he previously detailed the stress of keeping the tiny tot safe when he was growing up.
“He’s mobile now,” the 39-year-old said during a 2021 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, when his nephew was around 16 months old. “He’s figuring out his legs work. You take your eye off him and in one second, he’s out of here, he’s gone.”
The All My Children alum noted that he was thinking about having his own kids one day, but said he would deviate from tradition by not naming his future son after his dad Michael A. Jordan.

♬ original sound - Netflix - Netflix“I am breaking that cycle right there,” he continued. “It’s too much, just like the pressure I had to live up to my dad’s name and I’m not going to put that on my kid. I’m going to give him his own identity. He’s got to walk in his own shoes.”
As for where Michael currently stands on his timeline for becoming a dad?
“I want kids one day, but I figure I gotta start off with, like, plants and dogs,” he said on a December episode of Netflix’s My Next Guest Needs No Introduction. “If I can take care of a plant, I should be able to get a dog. If the dog is cool, then I have a shot.”
