If you scroll through the thousands of photos available online of Michael B. Jordan — tracking a 20-plus year career of premieres, red carpets and glitzy galas that make up the workaday routine of any star of his wattage — you’ll be flooded with color. Lavender purple at Time 100. Firetruck red at Japan’s “Creed III” premiere. Pastel slime green at, fittingly, the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards. Also: hot pink, deep maroon, lemon-yellow, cerulean blue, classic beige.

It’s a sartorial range that’s at once impressive (he would elicit drools while dressed in a trash bag) but also makes you wonder what the through line in his style is, if any. If you look a little bit closer, though, you’ll find your answer: his jewelry.

Often peeking out from his double-breasted lapel is a diamond chain or, in more elaborate ensembles, a jewel-encrusted brooch pinned to the front. If his suits are classic, his jewelry is daring, and has allowed him to pave his own personal style through the power of accessory.

So, rather than partnering with luxury fashion houses (Jordan’s only big-name fashion collab to date has been with Coach), he has instead forged a now long-running relationship with the jewelry brand David Yurman, which tapped the actor last year to debut their first-ever luxury men’s collection. Now, Jordan and David Yurman have reunited on their second campaign for the Chevron collection, which is made up of the exact diamond chains and pendants that he naturally gravitates towards. And you’d be safe to place a bet that he’ll be wearing a few Chevron pieces at the premiere for his next movie, “Sinner,” out this April.

“I typically gravitate towards chain necklaces and bracelets to pair with my every day and red carpet looks,” Jordan tells Variety. “One of my favorite pieces currently is the Chevron Woven Bracelet. The use of nylon and gold is really unique and has made it a staple piece in my wardrobe.”

Other pieces include the Woven Bracelet, “for more relaxed days,” he says, or the the Band Ring “for more of a statement.”

Jordan’s stylist Jason Bolden says that he was “particularly excited about the Spring 2025 project because of its message and the Chevron collection’s versatility.”

“These pieces work so well for everyday wear and red carpet appearances,” he says, “and I’m excited to continue incorporating them into Michael’s looks.”

Below, Jordan talks to Variety about his relationship with David Yurman, his love for jewelry and his favorite pieces from the collection:

When were you first introduced to David Yurman jewelry? Do you have a specific event or red carpet outfit that you paired with his jewelry that stands out to you?

I’ve always loved David Yurman jewelry but I officially became a part of the David Yurman family last spring when we launched the brand’s first Men’s high jewelry collection. That was my first time partnering with a jewelry brand and when they approached me again for the Spring Chevron campaign, I was really excited to get back together with [David Yurman’s son] Evan and the team. We actually were able to pull some incredible pieces for my March cover of GQ, so would have to say that’s probably what stands out most to me right now.

How would you describe the Chevron collection? What type of occasion do you think it works best for?

The Chevron collection is timeless and easy to work into your evolving style, whether you’re chilling at home in sweatpants or going out. I appreciate jewelry that is versatile and can be styled for different occasions. For more relaxed days, I can wear the Chevron Woven Bracelet and if I’m headed to an event or red carpet, I’ll wear the same bracelet but with pave diamonds and throw on one of the Chevron Band Rings for more of a statement.

What’s your favorite piece in the collection, and why?

I typically gravitate towards chain necklaces and bracelets to pair with my every day and red carpet looks. One of my favorite pieces currently is the Chevron Woven Bracelet. The use of nylon and gold is really unique and has made it a staple piece in my wardrobe.

What’s your own relationship with jewelry? Do you remember when you began to have a love for it, whether it was when you were a kid and had something passed down to you or later in life getting introduced to the high fashion space?

My first introduction to jewelry was when I got my ears pierced in middle school. I’ve always loved throwing on a chain necklace too, but I started really experimenting with jewelry when I started experimenting more with fashion. Jewelry can transform your look and with the Chevron collection I am able to style it in a way that feels authentic to me.

What’s the one piece of jewelry you can’t leave the house without?

Lately I’ve been reaching for the David Yurman Chevron Tags. I haven’t really taken this off since I got it.
