Melania Trump Calls On ABC To “Take A Stand” Against Jimmy Kimmel As She Rails Against Late Night Host Following A Scathing Monologue

First Lady Melania Trump issued a blistering statement about Jimmy Kimmel, following a scathing faux White House Correspondents’ Dinner monologue he delivered in advance of the event last week.

The first lady posted on X, “Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn’t comedy- his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America. People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate. A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him. Enough is enough.  It is time for ABC to take a stand.  How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community.”

During his show on Thursday, Kimmel presented an “alternative” White House Correspondents’ Dinner monologue, in a segment set up as if he were in the Washington Hilton ballroom and the first lady, Donald Trump and other administration guests were there.

One of his jokes in particular has drawn new attention, given the shooting incident at the dinner on Saturday, forcing the Secret Service to rush the first lady, her husband and other administration officials from the dais and other seats near the stage.

In his “alternative” monologue on Thusday, Kimmel said, “Our First Lady, Melania, is here. Look at Melania, so beautiful. Mrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow.”

Kimmel also made jokes about Jeffrey Epstein, a particularly sensitive topic for the first lady and the president.

Kimmel said, “Oh, by the way, before we go any further, Melania, this is Donald. Donald, this is Melania. That was my impression of Jeffrey Epstein.”

Earlier this month, the first lady summoned the press so she could deliver a statement denying that she was introduced to her husband by Epstein.

In his Thursday segment, Kimmel also quipped, “You know Melania’s birthday is on Sunday. That’s right, She’s planning to celebrate at home the same way she always does: Looking out a window and whispering, ‘What have I done?'”

An ABC spokesperson did not immediately return a request for comment.

In September, Kimmel made a joke about the response to the assassination of Charlie Kirk, a quip that ignited fierce criticism on the right.

A day later, FCC Chairman Brendan Carr criticized Kimmel’s joke, and told a podcaster that “we can do this the easy way or the hard way,” a warning to broadcasters who hold licenses regulated by the agency. Hours later, ABC announced that it was sidelining the show, as two major station groups, Nexstar and Sinclair, decided to preempt it. After a backlash, Kimmel was restored to the network airwaves a few days later, and he returned to the broadcast group stations after that.
