Why Meghan Trainor Is Cancelling Her Tour

Meghan Trainor is all about that honesty.

Days after announcing the cancellation of her upcoming Get in Girl tour, the “All About That Bass” singer shared insight into how her last experience on the road ultimately influenced her new album Toy With Me.

“Life goes up and down like this,” Meghan explained on the April 23 episode of the Sorry We’re Cyrus podcast. “And during this writing process, in the middle of my last tour, my life took a weird deep dive internally that I can’t really talk about.”

Though the 32-year-old didn't disclose specific details, she noted that, at the time, she was “going through it.”

“You never know what someone’s going through,” she emphasized. “It's been a big part of this album. And it's tough that I don't want to discuss it because I don't want to blow up somebody's life over it, that's in my family, you know?”

However, Meghan—who shares sons Riley, 5, and Barry, 2, as well as daughter Mikey, 3 months, with husband Daryl Sabara—was able to shed light on the inspiration behind many of the songs.

“A lot of these songs are written about a huge breakup that I witnessed,” she explained. “They're my best friend. And so, I wrote a lot of these songs for them.”

The “Made You Look” hitmaker highlighted two songs in particular—”Get In Girl” and “Shimmer”—which she said were intended to be a “self-love confidence anthem.”

“It’s for that person, but it’s also for myself because every day, I’m really bad with my self-talk,” she explained. “I’m starting from scratch, like, every day. So I’m trying to boost myself up there too with this music.”

Meghan’s candid comments come just one week after she announced that she had made the “difficult decision” to cancel her upcoming Get in Girl tour that was set to kick off June 12 in Michigan. The popstar—who welcomed Mikey via surrogate in January—said the decision was made “after a lot of reflection and some really tough conversations.”

“Balancing the release of a new album, preparing for a nationwide tour, and welcoming our new baby girl to our growing family of five has just been more than I can take on right now,” she wrote in an April 16 Instagram Story, “and I need to be home and present for each and all of them at this time.”

“I needed this album,” she added, “so I hope it helps people out there who need it.”

And while she was disappointed to let her fans down, Meghan has consistently been clear that she will always prioritize her own health and wellbeing, no matter what.

“You have to take care of your mental health first,” she told Us Weekly in an interview published April 15. “I’m on antidepressants. I’m in therapy every week. I was in couples therapy for a minute when we needed it… I just got diagnosed with ADHD. I’m testing my blood, poop, my everything, to make sure I’m at peak healthiness.”

“I love asking for help,” she added. “I’m like, ‘How can I improve in every way?’ I can’t do it all. I wish I could, and I can’t.”

Because you know Meghan Trainor is all about those bangs she debuted in an August 2025 TikTok. While the musician's goal was to show off her core strength, balancing atop a set of dumbbells as part of the social media stiletto challenge, it's pretty clear that her followers' eyes were looking higher.

As one fan commented of her sleek high pony and new fringe, "OMG I didn't recognize you."

Why Meghan Trainor and Daryl Sabara Started Taking Mounjaro

Though the singer was more than happy with the boom boom that all the boys chase, she and husband Daryl Sabara embarked on a health journey after welcoming first son Riley in February 2021.

Eager to ensure that every inch of them was perfect from the bottom to the top, "We did 75 Hard," she detailed on an April 2025 episode of their Workin’ On It podcast, name-checking the strict 75-day program, "and, man, did we crush."

But after youngest son Barry joined the party in July 2023, continued Trainor, "We heard more and more of our friends—and even our doctors—were on Mounjaro and Ozempic.”

And after doing some thorough research, the couple decided to give it a shot, opting for Mounjaro because they felt it “had less side effects.”

Starting the journey together, they paired the lowest possible dose with balanced meals and plenty of sweat sessions. "We were like, 'We have to make sure we don't lose muscle, that we worked so hard gaining all those years,'" she added. "And we stay in the gym, we work out, we eat right. And we just noticed that we were less hungry."

These days she knows she looks good in her Versace dress. "I feel amazing," Trainor detailed. "Like this thing is incredible. And I have no shame being on it and talking about it."

Meghan Trainor Shares Why She Got a Boob Job

When Trainor revealed her plans to get breast implants after welcoming two kids, the reaction made her do a double take. "I’m just an open book, so I was like, 'I’m getting my boobs done,' and all the comments were so nice," she told E! News in March 2025, weeks after revealing the results. "All the moms were like, ‘absolutely.'"

Because she wasn't lyin', lyin', lyin' when she shared how much she wanted the boost. "I had two babies, I pumped everything out of me and then I lost a bunch of weight, and my boobs were like ‘we’re not boobs,’ you know," she explained. “I was like, ‘I’m going to get some new ones,’ and that was my dream."

How Meghan Trainor Feels About Her New Breasts

As for whether Trainor regrets going under the knife, that would be a nah to the ah to the no, no, no.

"I got my dream boobs and they are gorgeous,” she told E! in March 2025. "I look so good naked.”

Before, she was always looking at her chest sideways.

"I've always struggled with loving my boobs before I got them done," she admitted on Instagram. "These breast implants are the only ones in the world with smooth silk, a surface designed to minimize inflammation so the tissue around the implant stays soft. Honestly, they look and feel amazing."

Meghan Trainor Reveals She Got Too Much Botox

All about that face: "I got too much Botox and I need help," Trainor revealed on a December 2024 episode of her podcast. Though she'd gotten injections of the wrinkle-reducing neurotoxin to her forehead before, this time she'd paired it with some lip filler.

"Someone convinced me with my little lips that if you did a lip flip, you put filler right above your upper lip, that you could have a beautiful flip on your upper lip," the singer explained. "And I could have one for the first time in my whole 30 years of living, it was not true."

Instead, she detailed, "I cannot smile. My face hurts to smile, to even try."
