In 2023, the Grimace Milkshake arrived at McDonald’s around the world. This purple-colored, berry-flavored milkshake quickly went viral in a way McDonald’s didn’t expect, leading to some very strange, funny, and sometimes disturbing short videos. And now, McDonald’s is bringing back the infamous shake alongside a whole slew of purple menu items in Germany.
As first spotted by Snackator on Twitter on April 28, McDonald’s Germany has just launched a new purple menu inspired by fast food mascot and (I guess) popular character Grimace. Once a villain, Grimace is now a silly purple doofus that wouldn’t harm a fly. He’s also purple, hence the new uh…purple BBQ sandwich with pink sauce. Hmmm. I’m not so sure about this menu, folks.

For a limited time in Germany, McDonald’s will be selling a purple cream cheese pie, a purple blueberry cake-pop, a purple-berry cream sauce, and the previously mentioned Grimace Shake and purple BBQ burger. I’d probably not eat all of this at once, as that’s a lot of food, but also, way too much artificial purple dye for any one person to consume. I doubt it would kill you, but I bet your next shit will look funky. And probably the one after that one, too.
Sadly (thankfully?), this purple menu isn’t, at least for now, making the leap to the United States. That does make me sad, because eating this whole menu and reviewing it for the site sounds like great content. Even if it will ruin my next bowel movement. Anyway, McDonald’s, if you are still into Grimace after this, please add him to Fortnite ASAP. Thanks!
