Matthew Perry's prized possessions heading to auction: Rare Friends script and Banksy painting to be bid on

Fans of the late actor Matthew Perry will soon have a chance to own some of his most prized possessions when they go up for auction.

On June 5, a bevy of his treasures – including 26 signed Friends scripts and an original Banksy painting estimated to be worth at least $800,000 – will be auctioned off for charity by Heritage Auctions, with the proceeds going toward the Matthew Perry Foundation.

The foundation, which was established just days after Perry's death at 54, works to help those struggling with addiction and substance abuse.

Details about Perry's prized possessions going on the auction block were released shortly after the licensed drug addiction counselor Erik Fleming was sentenced earlier in May for his role in the actor's death.

Fleming – who was a friend of Perry's – pleaded guilty after he admitted to selling 51 vials of ketamine to the actor, including the dose that ultimately led to his death

Perry, who was discovered unresponsive in a pool at his home in Los Angeles, was determined by the LA County Medical Examiner to have died from the 'acute effects of ketamine,' while drowning was cited as a contributing factor, along with coronary artery disease and the effects of buprenorphine.

Among the 130 lots going up for auction are several of Perry's Friends-related possessions, including a rare script for the original pilot episode.

The script, which was supplied by Warner Bros. to Perry, was written back when the show was still known by an earlier title, Six Of One.

In addition to Perry's signature, the script – which was written by Friends creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane – was signed by the other five main cast members: Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer.

The script had a starting price of $500, according to The Guardian, but the bidding had already reached $15,000 as of Tuesday.

Perry's 1996 Screen Actors Guild Awards trophy, which he and his costars won for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, is also among the items listed for auction.

Fans are currently bidding over $3,000 for the trophy.

In addition to Perry's pilot script, the actor also had 26 scripts from season 10, which had a starting price of $1,000, but will now go for more than $3,500.

Another script for The Last One: Part 1, the first half of Friends' two-part series finale, was also signed by all six main cast members and had been bid up to $8,500.

Perry was a major Batman fan, and several items related to the superhero are among the items being auctioned.

In a video for GQ, the actor once described a blacked-out Memorigin watch created as a tie-in with The Dark Knight Rises as his 'favorite thing.'

The watch features a manually wound movement with a flying tourbillon, as well as a gray Batman logo just below the Arabic numerals at 12:00.

Perry even owned a Batman mask that was made to perfectly fit his face for a 2016 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Among the auction offers are several magazines featuring Perry and his Friends costars on the covers.

He was pictured with the cast on covers for magazines, including Rolling Stone, but Perry also owned magazines with just himself on the cover, including issues of TV Guide.

Among the more personal items going up for auction is an album of photos that Jennifer Aniston put together and presented to Perry and their costar Courteney Cox, which appears to show intimate shots of the group.

Aniston is also represented by a handwritten letter addressed to Perry, which was included alongside a printed poem.

Other odds and ends in the auction include a tennis ball with a dedication and note to Perry that was signed by the retired tennis pro Chris Evert.

'To Matthew, My new favorite doubles partner!' she wrote on the ball, before signing it, 'Chrissie.'

The auction is proceeding even as Perry's former drug counselor, who delivered to him fatal doses of ketamine, was sentenced to jail time.

Erik Fleming, 56, was ordered to serve two years, with Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett handing down the sentence in a federal court in Los Angeles on last week.

An emotional Fleming said: 'It’s truly a nightmare I can’t wake up from. I’m haunted by the mistakes I made.'

A judge ordered Fleming, who has been free on bond for about two years, to turn himself in to serve his term in 45 days. He was also sentenced to three years of probation.

Fleming was the fourth defendant sentenced of the five who have pleaded guilty in prosecutions over the actor´s death.

He became the first defendant to plead guilty in August 2024, admitting to one count of distribution of ketamine resulting in death.

On October 28, 2023, Perry was found unresponsive in a jacuzzi at his Pacific Palisades home and was declared dead at the scene, aged 54.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office later determined that Perry's death was caused by an accidental ketamine overdose.

The sentencing comes a month after Perry's 'Ketamine Queen' drug dealer, Jasveen Sangha, was handed down 15 years in prison, along with three years of supervised release.

The sentencing comes a month after Perry's 'Ketamine Queen' drug dealer Jasveen Sangha was sentenced to 15 years in prison, along with three years of supervised release

Sangha pleaded guilty to five federal charges related to Perry's death and has been in federal custody since her arrest in August 2024.

Fleming connected Perry to Sangha and ultimately gave her up to investigators.

The prosecutors wrote in a filing that 'Sangha’s actions show a cold callousness and disregard for life. She chose profits over people, and her actions have caused immense pain to the victims’ families and loved ones.'

Sangha's defense team argued that she has 'acknowledged her role in serious criminal behavior' and requested the court to consider a sentence based on time already served.

'She does not minimize that conduct or the gravity of the consequences charged in this case,' the lawyers added.

According to the US attorneys handling the case, Sangha collaborated with Erik Fleming to supply ketamine to Perry.

In the same month that Perry passed away, Sangha and Fleming sold 51 vials of ketamine to the actor, which were then handed over to Kenneth Iwamasa, Perry's personal assistant, prosecutors said.

Iwamasa administered the ketamine to Perry on several occasions leading up to the fatal overdose, including at least three injections on the day of his death, according to the prosecution.

Perry played Chandler Bing on the NBC series Friends opposite Jennifer Aniston

Perry's mother, Suzanne Perry, and Perry's stepfather, Keith Morrison, arrive for the sentencing hearing of Sangha last month

After hearing about Perry's death in news reports, Sangha contacted Fleming via the encrypted messaging app Signal.

She instructed him, 'Delete all our messages.'

In August 2024, Fleming admitted to charges of conspiracy to distribute ketamine and distributing the drug, which led to a death.

Similarly, Iwamasa pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges related to ketamine distribution resulting in death, with both men scheduled for sentencing later this month.

Sangha pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including maintaining a drug-involved property, distributing ketamine three times, and distributing the drug, which led to death or serious injury.

Prosecutors revealed she had been using her residence as a base for storing, packaging, and distributing narcotics, such as ketamine and methamphetamine, since at least 2019.

Perry battled addiction for many years, a struggle that intensified during his time on Friends, when he became one of the biggest stars of his generation as Chandler Bing.

His rise to fame alongside Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer on the iconic Friends sitcom from 1994 to 2004 was overshadowed by personal struggles.

Perry openly admitted that his addiction issues frequently interfered with his work during those years.
