2026 has been a benchmark year for Matt Damon, but it goes beyond his recent role in Christopher Nolan’s box office smash-hit historical epic. Damon is being viewed as a serious Oscar contender thanks to his performance in The Odyssey, but he also gave a great performance much earlier in the year in The Rip, the Miami-set crime thriller that dropped on Netflix back in January. Damon stars alongside his long-time creative partner Ben Affleck in the film — the duo have been working together since the 1990s on movies like Good Will Hunting. Though Damon doesn’t star in the film, he is a producer on Affleck’s new Netflix movie, Animals, which just began streaming on the platform around the world last weekend. Kerry Washington and Steven Yeun star alongside Affleck in the kidnapping thriller.

If Matt Damon does earn a nomination for his performance as Odysseus in The Odyssey, it will be the fourth time in his career that he’s been recognized by the Academy for his performance. Damon has never won an Oscar for Best Lead or Best Supporting Actor, but he does have something few other actors do, which is an iconic action franchise with multiple pulse-pounding installments. We’re talking, of course, about Jason Bourne, the legendary action series based on the novels written by Robert Ludlum. For most of 2026, the entire collection of Jason Bourne movies was either absent from streaming or scattered across various platforms. However, at the start of October, all five Jason Bourne movies — even the polarizing Jeremy Renner-led installment — began streaming on Netflix, and they’ve taken over the top 10 several times.

What Else is Streaming on Netflix Right Now?

The most-watched TV show on Netflix at the time of writing is Below, the hit thriller series starring Josh Hartnett and Charlie Heaton, who is best known for playing Jonathan Byers in Stranger Things. East of Eden, the new Netflix series starring Florence Pugh, has also been a streaming super-hit over the last few weeks, though it’s finally losing steam to newer arrivals. While Jeremy Renner's forgotten Bourne movie may not be charting as high as Matt Damon's installments, Renner's Taylor Sheridan series, Mayor of Kingstown, has become a massive hit on Netflix in the last week.

Check out all five Jason Bourne movies on Netflix and stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of Matt Damon’s future projects.
