Mary and Ewan can be seen on the Paramount+ on Showtime series based on Amor Towles' 2016 novel as they revealed that it was Ewan's idea for them to work together on screen again.

The actress said: 'Ewan was reading the novel and he started slyly mentioning to me, in very subtle ways, that there was a great female character in the book.

'He was definitely hinting to me that it could be a good opportunity for us to work together.'

Ewan portrayed Count Alexander Rostov while Mary starred as his onscreen wife Mary Urbanova.
