That includes Deadpool, who has seen several different castings over the decades the character has been around, particularly in TV shows and video games. Thanks to a resounding Reddit celebration, it's clearthe return of Deadpool has been a massive hit.
A Familiar Deadpool Returns
With the recent return of famed voice actor Nolan North as Deadpool, Marvel Tokon fans are stoked to see the legend back. As one notes: "Nolan North being [Deadpool] again just feels right. Josh Keaton double dipping as Iron Man and Spider-Man is biblical greed. Could have done something similar to Rivals where he's Iron Man and Yuri Lowenthal is Spider-Man."
As a reminder, North voiced the character multiple times, including Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, Marvel Heroes (free-to-play), Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, Midnight Suns, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, and the 2013 solo Deadpool game. He also voiced Deadpool in 2009's Hulk Versus film, kicking off his long-running era as the character.
Even with Nolan North back in the saddle, some fans are impressed with all the voice acting in the game, period: "I think the voice acting has been pretty good so far. It's great to have Nolan North back as Deadpool; he is the definitive voice for Deadpool imo, just like Steve Blum for Wolverine. Also, some interesting choices for the Japanese VA, like Dio's voice actor dubbing Deadpool as well. I might play the game in English and Japanese sometimes."
Marvel Voice Acting Can Change Often
Other fans are big on the Marvel Rivals voice cast, which includes Alejandro Saab as Deadpool: "I’m ultimately a little sad that many of the Rivals guys didn’t reprise their roles but I understand it’s a different production pipeline at different companies among other issues. But I ultimately prefer the Rivals voices in almost every case aside from Magik and sorta Peni."
Many Marvel Rivals fans have thoughts, to be clear: "I definitely say the voice acting crew for English is pretty much an all-star cast as well as also most of them were aside from some exception surprisingly makes me wonder why Nolan did not reprise his role for Deadpool in Rivals. I would definitely say all-star cast."
Some are even mixed: "I'm a little mixed on a lot of them - One voice I do really dislike is Magneto's - it's such an arch, villainous, Silver Age Magneto voice; it doesn't portray the complexity that makes the character great."
X-Men character voices in any given Marvel project are often a point of contention, especially since there have been so many adaptations over the years since the group skyrocketed in popularity. At the very least, plenty of people are game and can deliver.
