If you use a mouse and keyboard on a PC for Marvel Rivals, you want to turn off mouse acceleration to help with their aim. Mouse acceleration is standard on computers and causes the cursor to move further when the mouse moves more quickly. While this can make mouse movements more efficient when doing typical computing, it can also be a big drawback for a hero shooter game.
Mouse acceleration can throw off your aim because it’s hard to control the speed with which one moves the mouse every time. When the cursor moves differently with each movement, it’s harder to gauge where it will end up each time. If you use a character like Black Widow, who needs to be quick and precise with her aim, then mouse acceleration could cause frustration. Luckily, there is a relatively simple way to turn this feature off.
How To Disable Mouse Acceleration In Marvel Rivals
Marvel Rivals Doesn’t Offer An Official Setting
Although Marvel Rivals offers a decent amount of customization options, including allowing you to make custom reticles for each hero, it doesn’t officially let you turn off mouse acceleration. To combat this, some players have been editing Marvel Rivals’ game files to turn it off. However, NetEase has asked players not to change this setting, according to a screenshot posted by Thatrandomguy007 on Reddit.
Editing game files could cause game performance issues.
However, players shouldn’t worry because they don’t need to go so far to turn the feature off.

By heading to the settings menu on Windows, you can turn off mouse acceleration for your whole computer. Navigate to the Bluetooth and Devices tab, then scroll down and click the Mouse menu. Alternatively, you can search “Mouse settings” on the Windows search bar to go directly there. Once there, simply turn off the option “Enhance pointer precision,” which is Windows’s option for mouse acceleration.
Some players suspect Marvel Rivals has built-in mouse acceleration, but others seem to think disabling it on Windows is good enough. It’s probably safer not to mess around with the game’s files, seeing as NetEase has warned players against doing so. Since they’ve responded to the issue, it’s likely NetEase is aware that players want a way to turn off mouse acceleration in Marvel Rivals. It’s possible this could be addressed in a future update, but for now, you can stick with toggling it on and off for your whole computer through the settings menu.
