But that’s not far from the last Punisher appearance that we will receive in the near future. Announced earlier today, Marvel’s newest crossover collaboration will also feature Punisher, pairing him with a character who is sure to fry Frank’s nerves and test his patience: Deadpool.
On Twitter/X, the official Marvel Comics account just shared a teaser image for a crossover project for Deadpool and Punisher. Following an announcement tradition that Marvel seems to enjoy, the crossover will be fully revealed tomorrow, on June 16, and there is no other information to discern precisely what this crossover may entail.
The tagline—“This won’t end well”—suggests that this crossover will see Deadpool and Punisher working with one another, though it’s obvious that they’ll be at each other’s throats regardless. The image itself is demonstrative of Deadpool’s personality, with Punisher’s iconic skull emblem vandalized to make a mockery of Frank; meanwhile, Deadpool’s emblem is riddled with bullet holes.
Indeed, the ‘X’ between Deadpool and Punisher’s emblems is ambiguous regarding whether it’s intended to portray them as amicable or antagonistic, but there’s an incredibly low likelihood that Deadpool doesn’t irritate Punisher and provoke him to try to kill him, and perhaps Punisher will be the one in Deadpool’s way, somehow. The ongoing Punisher run is quite macabre as it is, yet this Deadpool and Punisher crossover will hopefully be part of Marvel’s Red Band imprint if it wants to truly lean on these characters’ penchants for violence and murder.
The full reveal of whatever this crossover turns out to be takes place tomorrow (the date conveniently being 6/16) at 6:16 AM EST, with fans encouraged to tune into the official Marvel website’s 616 page at that time. Therefore, it seems clear that this crossover will be entrenched in Marvel’s mainline Earth-616 continuity, and it’ll be thrilling to discover what forces are at work to compel two antiheroes as friction-laden as Deadpool and Punisher.

The merc with the mouth first appeared in an issue of New Mutants in 1990, and since then has gone on to get his own series and a massive cult following. With his incredible powers of healing and regeneration, Deadpool was initially depicted as an X-Men villain but went on to become an anti-hero. After getting his own movie series starting in 2016, the third Deadpool movie finally brings the wisecracking, fourth-wall-breaking character into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
