Martha Stewart showers and applies makeup before hitting the gym at 6:30am every morning.
While appearing on Amazon Live's series In Bed with Paige DeSorbo, the 84-year-old star explained why she makes the effort.
'I go to the gym every morning at 6:30, so I have to be out of the house at 6:15,' Stewart told host DeSorbo.
'I set my alarm for 5:45, that gives me time to take a shower, make the cappuccino for me and my driver.'
'You're showering before the gym?' DeSorbo asked.
'I never go to the gym without showering,' Stewart replied. 'I would never go anywhere, I would not leave the second floor of my house without showering.'
Her makeup includes foundation with SPF, cheek color and lip gloss. 'And I look really good,' she added. 'I have to because there's men in the gym. And there's other people that might see me, and I do not want to look awful.'

Stewart recently shut down plastic surgery rumors surrounding her youthful appearance.
'Everybody insists that I've had plastic surgery and I have not ever had plastic surgery,' she told PEOPLE exclusively while speaking about her skincare line, Elm Biosciences. 'I'm the most honest person on earth — but if they won't take my word for it, I don't know.'
'How can they not take my word for it?' she wondered, doubling down, 'That's the truth!'
She used her recently released A3O™ Elemental Night Cream ($165). The Elm Biosciences product is the third from the brand, which launched in September 2025.
This comes after she talked her morning routine with Vogue Beauty Secrets.
The star posed for Sports Illustrated
She uses Elm Biosciences to achieve her glow from the inside-out.
'I don't sunburn my insides, so why would I sunburn my outside?' asked the icon who likes to be outdoors but also tries to stay out of the sun.
And she likes a good glow. 'I’ve been using L’Oreal Lumi Glotion since they put it on me in a little social media campaign,' she said. 'It gives you that glow that is so important. I like to glow. I don’t like matte finishes on pretty much anything. I like my furniture to be shiny, I like my face to be shiny.'
She uses Elm Biosciences Inner Dose Daily Skin Supplement ($50) too to look young from the 'inside out.'
The dermatologist-formulated capsule addresses internal triggers of aging like inflammation, oxidative stress and hormonal imbalance, strengthening the skin's foundation from within.

'This I've been using for quite a while now...and this goes all over my face. My skin feels taut, it feels cool, and it's a little bit tingly, I love that feeling!' she said of the Elm product.
The serum is powered by the A3O(tm) Complex, a triple-pathway anti-senescent molecule engineered to target visible signs of aging, including UV damage, pigmentation, dehydration, and irritation, while remaining gentle enough for sensitive skin.
And she likes Elm Biosciences A30TM Elemental Night Cream ($165): 'A transformative, next-generation retinoid-no prescription needed. This advanced formula pairs a modern, targeted retinoid with our A3O(tm) Proprietary Complex, Ectoin, and lipids to smooth the appearance of fine lines, help the skin feel firm, and deeply hydrate your skin while you sleep.'
A pro tip from the star is to apply this overnight treatment to your hands and décolletage during the morning for a little extra TLC.
The cookbook author was a model in the 1960s before getting married

'It is a nice, rich cream - it does contain a new version of retinoid. A lot of retinoids are irritating to people's skin - this is not,' said Stewart.
'This is proven to be as smoothing and nourishing as you can imagine.'
She also said doing Pilates and drinking green juice are a must. And she wore a pale blue linen and lace negligee and robe from Italy that she purchased in France.
Once she finished her beauty routine, she showed the audience how to take one of her famous selfies: 'If you want to send somebody special a picture of yourself - once you have mastered the art of everyday makeup, fluff up your hair a little bit.

In November, fans could not believe her age.
In a photo shoot with her longtime pals Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre for their brand Still GIN, the blonde home improvement specialist looked not a day over 50-years-old.
But that is impossible as she came to fame in the 1980s.
With her skin flawless as she showed off a golden tan and beautiful almond-shaped brown eyes with a megawatt grin, the magazine editor looked her very best.
Fans took to social media to discuss her age as many guessed that she is decades younger than she really is. And they were shocked when they looked up her years on earth: she is 84-years-old.
That is about 25 years more than her fans - who are called 'Super Fans' - had guessed. 'She looks mega youthful, I can't believe she is in her eighties,' said one fan on X while another added, 'Tell me what your secret is Martha!'
The New Jersey native, born Martha Helen Stewart, wore a gold outfit that consisted of a collar-free button up jacket in sequins that was cut at the waist.
Underneath was a simmering gold dress that was long and hugged her legs.
She's known for her Emmy-winning TV shows, magazine, and books, which cover cooking, entertaining, gardening, and home decor. Stewart's media empire reaches over 100 million fans each month.
And she has incredible presence: Stewart sells her kitchenware through several major retailers, including Walmart, Macy's, JCPenney, Kohl's and Lowe's. Her products are also available online through other stores like Amazon, Target, Wayfair, The Home Depot and QVC.
Before starting her media career, Stewart was a fashion model then she worked as a stockbroker on Wall Street.
