Married At First Sight star Nicolas Jovanovic welcomes first child less than a year after tying the knot: 'Our little miracle'

Nicolas Jovanovic has welcomed his first child. 

The former Married At First Sight groom shared the good news in an Instagram post on Wednesday, revealing that he and his wife Alex Caldwell have a new daughter. 

'Welcome to the world, our baby girl Sofija,' the 34-year-old wrote alongside sweet photos of his little one.  

The 2019 MAFS star did not reveal the date his newborn arrived, but shared a number of photos of the tot cuddled up in blankets. 

He added in the comments: 'Thank you everyone for all the beautiful words and kind messages! 

'We are both so in love and so smitten with our little miracle.'

Nic also credited his wife Alex with taking the photos 'with her magic capturing all our special moments.'

The post was inundated with messages of congratulations, including from fellow Married At First Sight star Martha Kalifatidis. 

'Omg congratulations you guys!' the MAFS season six bride wrote. 

'Brilliant, congrats team,' commented Married At First Sight star Mark Scrivens, while Channel Nine reporter Marina Ivanovic chimed in with, 'Congratulations'.

The couple first announced their impending arrival in an Instagram post shared in November last year. 

'Baby Jovanovic due May 2026,' Nic captioned the post, adding a yellow heart emoji.

The announcement comes only months after Nicolas and Alex tied the knot in a stunning ceremony in the Hunter Valley, NSW.

Last June, the electrician-turned-reality-star shared a gallery of photos from their big day at Redleaf in Wollombi, revealing he had married his long-time love on May 31.

He first rose to fame on the 2019 season of Married At First Sight when he was paired with fiery bride Cyrell Paule, nicknamed 'Cyclone Cyrell' for her outspoken nature.

The pair split before final vows but remained on good terms.

Cyrell later moved on with Love Island Australia alum Eden Dally and the couple share a son, Boston.

Nic kept his next relationship mostly out of the spotlight, quietly debuting Alex on Instagram in July 2023 with a cosy photo of the couple together.
