Married At First Sight Season 18’s Matches Prove The Experts Don’t Care About Long-Term Ramifications For The Participants (These Relationships Could Scar Them)

1 week ago 5

Married At First Sight season 18’s matches have caused some major issues with viewers, pushing them to lose trust in the experts as the couples prove they don’t care about the long-term ramifications of the relationships. The Married At First Sight experts, currently comprised of Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Dr. Pia Holec, and Pastor Cal Roberson, have been working hard to ensure that the matches on the show are an entertaining bunch. While the experts appear to have the job of putting couples they feel will be successful together, it’s possible that their matches are more produced than MAFS viewers realize.

Moving through the last several seasons of the series without many successful matches, the Married At First Sight experts are expected to find a bit more success in the current season. Though they’ve been able to match five couples up during the Chicago season, the Married At First Sight season 18 experts have struggled to make matches that make much sense. With a few of the couples already tenuous, the relationships have moved at an odd pace that has pushed many to wonder if the experts are genuinely careful to match up singles who won’t cause each other long-term damage.

MAFS Season 18’s Couples Are Mostly Mismatched

Only One Looks Like They’ll Be Successful

Although Married At First Sight season 18’s couples haven’t experienced the entirety of the experiment yet, it’s clear that a lot of them are mismatched from just the first few episodes of the season. While there’s a fascinating bond building between Thomas and Camille, who appear to be evenly matched and genuinely interested in each other, the other couples are far too off-kilter. From the potential match of Karla and Juan to the absolute no-go of Michelle and David, there are couples all over the board on MAFS season 18. Most of them have something in common, as they’re mismatched.

The MAFS Experts Are Supposed To Look For Couples Who Are Compatible Long-Term

They’re Only Looking At Superficial Qualities

Although the Married At First Sight experts all have their own spaces of expertise, the couples are meant to be compatible in the long-term, not just interesting on screen. Many have struggled to understand how the MAFS experts are creating the show’s matches in recent years, even with the addition of the matchmaking specials helping them to spell out why they’re putting certain couples together. Even with reasoning, it appears that the MAFS experts are putting couples together based on strange criteria, and are then surprised when their pairings don’t work.

Despite the fact that there are genuine criteria that the Married At First Sight season 18 cast was looking for in partners, the experts went off of things they felt made sense in the moment. Rather than looking at qualities in the singles that would pair up and make them interested in long-term relationships, the MAFS experts appear to focus on the present moment, hoping to create sparks rather than a long-burning flame. Their issues in finding couples who can last has been documented, but they haven’t paid enough attention to improve their craft.

MAFS Season 18’s Matches Prove The Experts Aren’t Being Careful

They’ve Become Too Reliant On Their Old Tricks

Although the MAFS experts all have their own sets of qualifiers that bring them to match up a couple, their recent matches have proven they’re looking at the wrong personality traits. This has made it more difficult for them to make matches that last all the way to Decision Day and beyond. The lack of care in their matchmaking and the fact that they appear to feel comfortable with their incredibly low success rate proves that the Married At First Sight experts aren’t being careful about their matches in the slightest, and are putting couples together for shock value.
