Married At First Sight expert Mel Schilling has provided fans with an uplifting update on her health as she returns to Sydney to film the 2025 series.

Taking to Instagram, Mel shared her excitement about being back in Australia, specifically at Bondi Beach, where she will be living for the next couple of months.

The TV personality, who recently moved back from the UK, opened up about how she's focusing on her health and recovery after recent battle with colon cancer.

'So here I am in Sydney, Bondi to be specific. The gorgeous Bondi Beach and this is now my home for the next couple of months,' Mel began.

'Just had a gorgeous month with my family here in Australia. My hubby and daughter came out with me for the first month of my filming journey here, and they've just returned to the UK, so it's very bittersweet.'

Mel, who is well-loved for her compassionate yet no-nonsense approach on MAFS, candidly spoke about the challenges of being separated from her family, though she noted that this time apart would be shorter than in the past.

'It's only six or seven weeks this time around, and certainly, I've done longer than that. We've had three-month separations before, so this one is much shorter,' she explained.

Determined to make the most of her time in Australia, Mel revealed that she is dedicating these months to prioritising her health and wellness.

'I'm determined to make this couple of months all about my health and recovery,' she said.

'I'm so excited to get into some yoga. I'm doing the yin class this afternoon and meeting up with a personal trainer to start training and really starting to build my strength again,' she added.

The relationship expert also shared how much she's enjoying feeling revitalised and energetic again.

'My energy is definitely returned, which is wonderful to feel like myself, to feel like I want to go for walks is an amazing feeling.'

Mel concluded her update by expressing her joy at being back at work with the MAFS Australia team.

'It's great to be back at work here in Australia. Working with the MAFS family again is just brilliant and really is helping me feel like I'm moving into the next chapter.'

Mel underwent surgery to remove a tumour and recently completed her chemotherapy.

It comes as Daily Mail Australia revealed next year's series is already shaping up to be one of the most chaotic and controversial series to date.

The upcoming series, already labelled the most chaotic in the show's history, promises a level of turmoil that producers are struggling to contain.

Viewers are going to see things very early on that have never happened before.

'It's truly amazing how every year, despite having done this for so long, we encounter storylines that are entirely new,' John Aiken teased of the new season.

'There are quite a few of those [next year]. I've been part of this for 12 seasons now, and even I witnessed a couple of things this time around that I've never seen before.'
