Married At First Sight 2025 is set to take things to a whole new level with a jaw-dropping twist that has already left next year's series' participants reeling.
Daily Mail Australia can reveal that season 12 will be rocked by a shocking new task that completely blindsided the cast, leaving them questioning their decision to appear on the show.
Sources close to the show reveal the challenge was introduced in the early hours of the morning days before the show wrapped.
Cast members were woken up, separated from their partners and handed an envelope containing a cryptic invitation to participate in what was described as a 'f**ked up' task.
Each participant had to make their own decision, entirely unaware of what their partner would choose.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia at the Channel Nine Upfronts on Thursday, expert John Aiken cryptically teased the dramatic twist.
'We can't give you exactly what it is, but what we can say is at Married At First Sight, what we are always trying to do is just give the viewers something a little different,' he shared.
'And also the participants, so they don't know what's coming. This year, as it gets closer to the end, and they're going to make a big decision about final vows, we throw a challenge at them that nobody's ever seen them do before.'

Some flat-out refused to go through with it, drawing a line in the sand and standing their ground.
Those who decided to take part found themselves facing a fallout with other contestants, with a few instantly regretting their decision.
'Some of the contestants were visibly shaken. They didn't sign up for this, and you could see it on their faces as they realised what was at stake,' a source close to the production shared.
'Others seemed determined to push through, even if they weren't sure it was the right move.'
