Married At First Sight expert John Aiken has sold his Hunter Valley weekender escape for $1.6million, several months after listing it on the market.

The reality TV star, 55, made a modest profit on the sale after purchasing the four-bedroom, three-bathroom Pokolbin property for $1.52million in 2023.

The luxury retreat had previously operated as a short-term rental, with guests able to book a stay for $430 per night.

Designed with both family living and entertaining in mind, the home boasts an open-plan layout with soaring ceilings and expansive living spaces.

The property also features scenic surrounds in the heart of the renowned wine region, offering a tranquil lifestyle away from the spotlight.

Set within The Vintage golf course estate, the property – affectionately known as The Lake House – was promoted as the ultimate lifestyle retreat in the heart of wine country.

Perched along the 15th fairway, the home takes in sweeping views over the greens and water, offering the kind of setting that is perfect for families and entertaining.

Inside, it leans into relaxed entertaining, with open-plan living spaces designed to bring people together.

The stunning property also features soaring contemporary ceilings, an impressive rustic fireplace for winter, and gorgeous views.

It comes as Aiken recently banked a major win on Sydney's North Shore, securing around $5.7million for his Willoughby home.

It was a sale that contributed to a combined property payday of more than $7million across both assets.

Buyer's agent Billy Gleeson, who snapped up the sandstone residence for his client, said the home drew strong interest.

'The buyers fell in love with the character and the history, there's no other house like it in Willoughby or the North Shore,' he told Realestate.com.au.

He added there had been 'fierce competition' for the five-bedroom property, with a 'handful' of buyers circling before it ultimately sold slightly above its revised $5.7million guide.

Like many listings in the current market, the home's initial price expectations had been adjusted, reflecting broader cooling conditions.

Aiken actively promoted the property himself, even filming 'open home' walk-through videos during the latest MAFS season.

The historic residence, known as 'Tyneside', dates back to 1882 and sits on a 779sqm block, featuring four fireplaces, an attic, and high-end finishes including a marble kitchen, bespoke joinery and imported chandeliers.

Outdoors, the home boasts a full entertainer's setup, with a barbecue area, pool, spa, cabana and outdoor shower.

Aiken purchased the property for $2.93million in 2019 after selling his previous Willoughby East home for $2.85million.
