Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days sale is officially coming, and it's the biggest one ever! Running for a full seven days from October 7 to October 13, it beats the six-day sale we saw last year, and matches the week-long Prime Day we enjoyed in July. It kicks off the massive end-of-year shopping season, which culminates in Black Friday and then Christmas.

Our colleagues in the United States are calling it a 'mini Prime Day sale', but that's because the American sale is only 48 hours long. Acting as a true second Prime Day in Singapore and Down Under, there's nothing 'mini' about the deals we'll be seeing.

Similar to the first event in July, the discounts during Big Deal Days are exclusive to Prime members – including limited-time 'lightning' deals. Luckily, with the deals ending on October 13, you can take advantage of Amazon's 30-day free trial of Prime now to gain access. And, if you find the service isn't quite right for you, you can cancel at any time within your 30-day window to avoid the subscription cost.

Note, Amazon Australia’s Prime membership is only available to customers with an Australian billing address, though delivery can be made to New Zealand.

What to expect from Prime Big Deal Days

Positioned perfectly between the mid-year and Black Friday sales, Prime Big Deal Days is the first major opportunity for shoppers to get a head start on holiday shopping.

While you might be tempted to wait until November, Amazon has already confirmed deals from top brands like Lego and Samsung, as well as Amazon devices like Ring security cameras, Fire TV Sticks and Kindle ereaders. And, if it's anything like last year's sale, we expect the seven-day event to cover thousands of products, from tech and homewares to everyday essentials.

Considering the sheer number of the best Amazon deals we see each week, a dedicated event that promises to improve its usual offering to Prime members is exciting in its own right. To help get an idea of what to expect in October, here are some of our favourite deals we saw in Australia during July's Prime Day sale.
