Mark Consuelos announced his plans to undergo a 'major' surgery for a 'painful' issue he has been dealing with for over a year.
The talk show host, 55, shared the news and explained he has been having trouble with his foot while cohosting Live with Kelly and Mark on Friday morning alongside his wife Kelly Ripa, 55.
'Today's the day,' he said to his wife and the audience at the top of the episode. 'I've been putting off this toe surgery for about a year.'
Ripa, who just underwent and recovered from gum graft surgery over the summer, said she would be accompanying her husband for the procedure and taking care of him afterwards.
'I'm not resisting the opportunity to video capture you coming out of your propofol haze,' she joked.
'That's right. People say some funny, funny things,' Consuelos replied.
In response, Ripa said back: 'I have you on video from your last foot surgery.'

Consuelos said he had not eaten ahead of the procedure and said he was feeling 'a little loopy' already since he had been fasting since the previous day.
'I've never heard of fasting for 24 hours before a surgery,' Ripa said, questioning his pre-surgery instructions.
'It's dumb. I just want to eat! I can be convinced to eat at any moment,' Consuelos joked back.
In the rest of the intro clip, the pair discussed Consuelos' recovery plan.
He requested Ripa take over on some of his household responsibilities, including walking their dog and being 'present' while he heals and recovers.
In a joking manner, he asked his wife to 'put your phone down, take your AirPods out of your ears.'
Ripa also revealed she had prepared a list of activities for her husband to keep him busy following the procedure.
She rattled off multiple options, including reading, journaling and playing games before adding: 'I can teach you to knit if you want.'

Consuelos did not share much about the surgery but revealed more details after Ripa jokingly asked him if he was undergoing the procedure to improve his golf game.
He responded by noting that the surgery is necessary.
'No, it's arthritic, it's bad,' he said. 'I need help. Yeah, it hurts.'
