With the Marathon Server Slam concluded, developers at Bungie have released one final weekend recap post addressing concerns, teasing future tweaks, and confirming they've "heard" requests for a dedicated duo queue.
As it stands, Marathon only allows for two matchmaking options: solos and trios. That has left all the passionate pairs out there having to either leave each other's side or bring in a third wheel. Interestingly enough, extraction shooter powerhouse Arc Raiders also received similar requests from players.
The Bungie team also confirmed feedback related to key unbinding has also been received, This apparently was a key request from console players, who desired to unbind a key altogether.
In terms of aspects still being considered as the game nears its full release later this week, the game's Time-to-kill (TTK) is being looked at. The feedback post acknowledges some people love the hastiness at which you can down another Runner, and as such things like player density on maps could be an avenue for changes. The medical consumable and ammo economy is also being looked at, following complaints tied to players blasting through their supplies.
In addition, UI feedback has come fast and in force, after Server Slam players felt confusion about various menus and the in-game HUD. PC performance fixes are coming, which should be great news for those who struggled a tad during the Sever Slam.
If you're curious how the Sever Slam actually went down, online reception has been mixed as doubters either were convinced to turn against their hands-off impressions or remained steadfast in their belief that Bungie's latest is just so-so. In terms of quantitative data, the game shot to the number three spot on Steam's Top Sellers list following the Slam. It's currently ahead of Arc Raiders, and lurking behind Counter Strike 2 and Resident Evil Requiem.
