Makiatto is set to make her debut in Girls’ Frontline 2 as the main star of its upcoming Rhapsody Quartet update. But although a fan favorite, is she an absolute must-pull?
To help all who either cannot wait to join forces with our favorite tsundere once more or who just want to see what all the fuss is about, here’s everything you need to know about Makiatto in Girls’ Frontline 2: Exilium, including when her banner will debut on global and a full overview of her kit.
- Table of Contents:
As a late Christmas present to all Girls’ Frontline 2 players, the global version of the Makiatto banner is set to debut on December 26, 2024. The banner will run until January 15, 2025. Together with Makiatto, both Krolik and Sharkry will also receive a drop-rate bonus during the banner.
As usual, a banner starring Makiatto’s signature Bittersweet Caramel sniper rifle is set to run simultaneously with her rate-up one. Bittersweet Caramel’s Trait will allow Makiatto to deal 2.5% more damage to Paradeux units —the buff will then be increased by 2.5% if the target is also Frozen. Its Art of Eradication passive will then allow any T-Doll wielding it to deal 10% more Freeze DMG, all while boosting their active attack DMG by 10% for every four stances of damage dealt outside of their turn.
If you are a Makiatto stan, her Ballroom Interlude alternative outfit will also debut on December 26 and will be available for purchase at the game’s shop. But don’t worry if you don’t have the resources for it right now, as the outfit will be available permanently.
All of Makiatto’s Skills, Explained
As a Sentinel single target-damage dealer capable of dealing massive amounts of damage to targets afflicted by Freeze, Makiatto is both the perfect partner for Suomi and a unit that shines by one-shooting targets, ideally while your team draws its fire or moves to intercept. You can check out an overview of all of her skills (at base value) below, based on their official descriptions:
- Lone Wolf Territory (Basic Attack): Deals Physical DMG based on her ATK
- Cold Precision Shot (Debuff): Deal Freeze DMG and gain one stack of Cold Conviction for each instance of damage dealt. This attack boasts increased CRIT DMG.
- Professional Tactics (Buff): Deals Physical DMG. Performing will give Makiatto a set number of Confectance Index points and one stack of Standard Approach.
- Absolute Mental Defense (Ultimate): Makiatto applies Frost Barrier and Alert to herself.
- Battlefield Insight (Passive):
- When in the field, Makiatto’s Critical Rate is increased at the cost of Critical Damage. At the start of a turn, if her HP is above 80%, she will then gain one stack of both Insight and Steady Progress. To add to that, when attacking targets afflicted by Frozen and Frigid, her attacks will both ignore part of their Stability Index points and deal increased DMG.
What About Her Fixed and Common Keys?
As expected, all of Makiatto’s Keys will be focused on boosting her overall damage and performance through a few extra native and passive buffs. Here’s an overview of all of them, based on their official descriptions:
- Fixed Key – Additional intelligence: After killing a target with Cold Precision Shot, Makiatto will get one Confectance Index point.
- Fixed Key – Iced With Milk Foam: Makiatto will gain 3 extra Confectance Index points at the start of the battle.
- Fixed Key – Indomitable Lone Wolf: If no other units are found within 3 tiles of Makiatto, she will gain one Lone Wolf stack after performing Professional Tactics.
- Fixed Key – Time for a Break: Upon using any of the skills above atop a freeze tile, all freeze-related debuffs will be cleared. You will also gain 3 tiles of Additional movement.
- Fixed Key – Heated Caramel: Makiatto will apply Murderous Intent to the enemy with the highest HP at the beginning of battle.
- Fixed Kewy – Absolute Concentration: Increases her ATK by 10% at the start of battle. The effect will last until her HP drops by any amount and cannot be re-applied.
- Common Key – Survival Instinct: If your HP is greater than 80% at the start of a turn, the stability damage suffered by the equipped T-Doll will be reduced by 2 points. Can only be triggered once per action cycle.
Should You Pull for Makiatto in GFL2?
Given her exceptional synergy with Suomi (aka the game’s best support/healer) and her ability to deal damage on a whole new level when compared to both Nemesis and most of the game’s current cast, I highly recommend that all players who have the resources pull for Makiatto. The free-to-acquire .50 Nemesis Standard Sniper Rifle can also be seen as a great universal fit for her, thus making not pulling for her signature a luxury you can afford.
