Magic’s Most-Wanted Marvel Deck Is Discounted – Here’s Why You Should Consider This One Instead

Skip Doom Prevails, Buy This Precon Instead

It pains me to say it in the Year of Doomsday, but Doom Prevails just isn’t the most cohesive deck you can pick up from the set.

It leans into the Connive mechanic to drain foes of life and trigger plenty of discard effects, but it’ll need some elbow grease (and investment) to get it onto the same level as some of its rivals.

There’s a copying subtheme, token generation, and more, but none of it blends together particularly well. That makes the whole deck feel clunky, particularly if this set is your on-ramp to Magic as a whole, or the Commander format.

If you are new to the game in any capacity, I’d wholeheartedly recommend the Avengers Assemble deck. It might not be as fun as being a bunch of supervillains, but this deck snowballs rapidly, and it’s discounted down to just $54.18.

Captain America and Nick Fury both tie together nicely, but even just having Cap on the board means you’ll be bringing in heroes regularly and having them able to swing while knowing they can also block.

It’s arguably not quite as interesting as the Fantastic Four or Wakanda Forever precons, but it’s certainly effective. Plus, Captain America, Team Leader, costing just three mana, means you can start your game plan nice and early with the right land drops.
