MAFS star makes claims about cocaine use on the set of the Channel Nine show

Married At First Sight star Scott McCristal has claimed that some of his castmates used an illicit substance while filming the show. 

The Gold Coast influencer, 33, was being interviewed by the Marty And Michael podcast recently when he was quizzed on whether his season's infamously raucous dinner party was fuelled by more than just alcohol.

'I always wondered because the behaviour [during dinner parties] was just so irrational. And I'm not asking to name names, but was anyone doing any bags [cocaine] during the dinner parties?' host Marty Arty asked. 

'There was a couple, I heard on the grapevine, yeah, before they went in to the dinner parties,' said Scott.

Scott noted that some cast members would also consume alcohol before arriving at the dinner parties. 

'Most people [were] pretty well behaved... [but some] had to drink before they go in. I know leading towards the end [of the series] it just got worse and worse,' he said. 

Scott was the only cast member who remained sober on the show, and said this enabled him to maintain a sense of poise during chaotic moments. 

'[My sobriety is] probably why I handled myself a lot better. Because I didn't consume alcohol and just carry on like an idiot,' he said.

Daily Mail previously revealed the cast of MAFS 2026 were, for the first time in the show's history, subjected to weekly drug tests during filming.

Any participant who returned a positive result would be immediately booted off the experiment. 

The bombshell measure came after the cast enjoyed a rogue weekend where several participants broke curfew.

'Production has every reason to be p**sed off,' one insider told Daily Mail at the time. 

'The night in question completely blew up - cast members disappeared, fights broke out and one couple is already in turmoil.' 

That crackdown came after bosses imposed a strict curfew on the 2025 cast after several participants were labelled 'disrespectful' and 'selfish' for vanishing mid-shoot.

At the time, contestants were ordered back to their apartments by 10pm on weeknights and 11pm on weekends – only for those times to be moved forward to 8pm Fridays and Sundays and 9pm on Saturdays.

An explosive leaked email from production expressed 'utter disappointment' in the cast's disregard for the crew, warning that their hotel key cards would be deactivated after curfew unless they informed their associate producer to let them in.

'The complete disrespect to this production's guidelines, as well as to my crew and their weekend, means these changes will be enforced,' the furious note read.

Contestants subsequently slammed the restrictions as 'complete b*****t' and 'not fair.'
