MAFS' Rhi Disljenkovic flaunts her toned physique on cosy outing with Jeff Gobbels - after admitting doubts about their relationship

They were matched on Married At First Sight despite having briefly dated in the past, and now Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels appear to be giving things another shot.

The duo were spotted enjoying a casual day out in what appeared to be a low-key date during a filming break back in August, just days after Rhi admitted it had been a struggle to move past the friend zone with her TV husband.

The fitness influencer, 34, showed off her toned abs in a stylish off-duty ensemble, pairing a black crop top with high-waisted, ripped blue jeans and a white oversized shirt.

She accessorised with black boots, a crossbody bag, and dark sunglasses, keeping her phone close as she walked beside Jeff.

Meanwhile, Jeff, 39, looked effortlessly cool in a forest green shirt, cream trousers, and white sneakers, finishing his look with trendy round sunglasses.

Despite their relaxed outing, the couple have been open about the difficulties in reigniting a spark, with Rhi recently admitting she had serious doubts from the moment she spotted Jeff at the altar. 

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Rhi revealed she was 'shocked' to see Jeff standing at the end of the aisle and immediately questioned whether their relationship had a future.

'I think the look on my face and me stopping at the end of the aisle, I remember just thinking, 'How is this going to work?' she confessed.

She went on to explain that while she and Jeff had dated briefly in the past, they had remained purely platonic in the time since.

'That was probably what stunted me at the aisle. We'd caught up a couple of times after we dated, and it was purely platonic,' she said, admitting the situation had been 'a challenge' compared to other couples on the show.

There has been speculation that MAFS producers may have intentionally matched Rhi and Jeff for dramatic effect, but the bride was adamant she had no idea her former flame was taking part in the experiment.

'Jeff and I had no idea—I had no idea he was going to be on the show, absolutely not,' she said.

She admitted, however, that there was a chance producers had orchestrated their match.

'In regards to the producers knowing, I really don't know. Maybe? But I really do think that it was just a fluke.'

While most MAFS honeymoons involve candlelit dinners and intimate moments, Rhi and Jeff's was anything but.

'Honeymoons are supposed to be romantic. Looking back on the other couples, you can see them holding hands, kissing, having sex. That is far from what Jeff and I were doing,' she admitted with a laugh.

'We were purely just trying to navigate this crazy situation.'

Despite their rocky start, Rhi and Jeff have maintained a close friendship throughout the experiment, something she believes translates into strong chemistry on-screen.

'I can't tell you that much,' she teased when asked if they were still together.

'But Jeff and I did maintain that friendship throughout, and I think that's why our chemistry comes on quite strong, because we do have a lot of respect for each other.'
