Luke Wilson's girlfriend Kendall Yates, 24, surfaces with their newborn for first time as 54-year-old attends starry red carpet event without her

Luke Wilson was pictured Thursday evening at the Los Angeles premiere for his Netflix comedy show The Hawk, after it was revealed this week that the actor has become a first-time dad at 54 with his girlfriend Kendall Yates, 24.

Yates earlier Thursday was pictured on a walk with her newborn in a stroller, as the model was clad in a blue striped button-up dress on a walk in Los Angeles. 

Wilson, who has been seen in films such as Old School, Legally Blonde and The Royal Tenenbaums, donned a hunter green coat over a green button-up shirt with khaki pants and off-white shoes at the Westwood, California event.

He was seen posing with the cast - which includes Will Ferrell, Molly Shannon, Fortune Feimster and Jimmy Tatro - and for selfies with fans at the screening in Southern California on the summer night, ahead of the show's widespread debut July 16.  

Wilson has been in a relationship with Yates for more than three years, according to People.

The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Wilson for comment and has yet to hear back. 

The couple made their first public outing with their child at a prior press reception for The Hawk in Newport Beach, California, on Tuesday, according to the outlet.

Wilson and Yates were reportedly seen holding their baby in a carrier before introducing the newborn to guests and Wilson’s castmates from The Hawk, including Tatro, at The Resort at Pelican Hill.

Wilson and Yates were last pictured together in April, with Yates appearing to display a prominent baby bump - although the pair never publicly confirmed the pregnancy.

Wilson was also notably absent from the Legally Blonde reunion in June, which saw stars including Reese Witherspoon and Ali Larter join forces to promote the prequel series, Elle.

He has kept his romance with Yates largely low-key - with the couple making their sole public appearance together at the Los Angeles Premiere of Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 1 in June of 2024.

The brother of Owen Wilson had previously spoken openly about his desire to become a father. 

In a 2019 interview with Hollywood Life, he said, 'I'm 47, I'm ready for that. I need to get to work.' 

Ahead of his 50th birthday in 2021, the actor said he was beginning to understand the term 'midlife crisis.'

'Thirty didn't matter to me. Forty didn't matter to me,' he told People magazine. 'I just steamrolled right through it, but 50 – I don't know if it's getting to me because I am sore when I wake up in the middle of the night, and I am forgetting the names of people I know.

'It's definitely one of those things that has had me thinking, oh, okay. So this is where the phrase midlife crisis comes from. I'm definitely starting to feel panicky about some stuff.'

Before getting involved with his girlfriend in early 2023, he dated several famous women.

Wilson courted Gwyneth Paltrow for about one year in 2001 and Drew Barrymore from 1997 to 1999.

In early 2022, Barrymore confirmed that she and the actor were together for two years when they were younger and revealed they had an 'open relationship.'

'When we first met, we were young and wild,' the Charlie's Angels vet said.

While speaking to Kate Hudson – who chatted about dating Wilson's brother Owen – on her daytime talk show, she said: 'I was dating him, but I think he was also dating other people.'

'It was an open relationship,' she added. 'We were young.'

They met while filming the 1997 comedy-action flick Best Men and also starred together in the 1998 rom-com Home Fries.

'We're just young, we're having fun, we're all playing, acting, hanging out. You're not taking it all so seriously, and it was fun and we had the best time,' Barrymore said lightly. 

Wilson was also romantically linked to About Last Night actress Joy Bryant in 2003.

He has a verified Instagram account, where he rarely posts to his 11,000 followers.

The entertainer's latest upload was in October – a photo of a book titled Here Beside the Rising Tide: Jerry Garcia, The Grateful Dead, and an American Awakening.

He captioned the post, 'Great book by the writer Jim Newton.'
