Love Island: All Stars' Marcel Somerville has opened up about a potential reunion with his ex Gabby Allen in the wake of her admitting she's 'open' to the prospect of a shock reconciliation with him.
The pair were coupled up in the villa during their 2017 stint in series 3 but their romance ended shortly after they left the show after he had cheated on her.
And ahead of his return to the dating show, which will also see fitness influencer Gabby, 32, make a comeback, Marcel, 39, has said 'never say never' as he says coming face-to-face with her again may be 'pretty nice'.
Speaking to MailOnline and other press, Marcel explained that 'a lot has happened' since they left the villa, revealing the pair are 'amicable' after bumping into each other sometime after their split and talking things through.
After acknowledging he'd 'made a mistake' by cheating on her, Marcel - who is legally still married to estranged wife Rebecca Vieira - told how in the years they'd been apart, they've 'moved on' and 'grown', so therefore it would be 'nice' to catch up.
On potentially giving romance another go, he added: 'You can never say never, but obviously it's all hypothetical. If she was in there I think it would probably be more of a situation of seeing what the energy was like between us and seeing if there was still that spark there.

Marcel's Love Island comes despite him still being legally married to estranged with Rebecca Vieira [pictured together] with the pair going through a divorce following her cheating
'But like you know what I mean like it's been seven years, the spark might not be reignited.'
Meanwhile, Gabby, who claims she hasn't seen the former Blazin' Squad star in six years, also hasn't ruled out a reunion - despite him cheating on her.
After the boyband favourite fell victim to infidelity himself, when his wife Rebecca strayed and subsequently ended their marriage, Gabby believes he may now have learned from his mistakes and could be mature enough to give their romance another go.
She told MailOnline: 'I am a big Love Island fan and everyone is hot.
'I am open in general, not even just on the show but I would like to think that it's not just looks, I want more from a relationship, I am a bit older, there are certain things I want out of a guy. I am going to be open to everyone and anyone that goes in really.'
On Marcel, she added: 'Obviously, there's the elephant in the room that my ex could possibly go in, but we haven't seen each other for six years.
'It's been such a long time, there are no hard feelings, it is what it is. I don't know if he's going in, I don't know how I can actually prepare for that... I am basically preparing myself that he does come in and then if he does, I will cross that bridge when I come to it.
'I would actually just like to have a conversation with him and hopefully put it all behind us and have some sort of friendship.

'We know each other very well... we had such an experience with each other last time. There's no reason why we shouldn't take the positives from it and hopefully be mates of some sort.'
And she won't let the fact Marcel, who cheated on Gabby when they were on holiday together in Mexico, being technically married still, as he's currently going through a divorce, stop a possible romance blossoming.
Gabby explained: 'I am really happy for him... it's been such a long time, and he is a bit older as well so that was bound to happen.
'It's really hard to read what happened and this is why I also want to talk to him because if he was going in, I hope he's alright and maybe we can relate to each other in some sort of way.'
Following his romance with Gabby, Marcel later found love with athlete Rebecca and they tied the knot in August 2022.
However, the TV star moved out of the family home and deleted all presence of Rebecca on social media in March last year after his wife cheated. They are still legally married and are in the process of divorcing.
Despite his pain at his wife's betrayal and subsequent breakdown of his marriage, Marcel told how this is now the right time to go in the villa as he hopes to rebuild his confidence and move on from the 'negatives' that tormented him last year.

He explained: 'People make mistakes, and those choices lead to other people being at a crossroads. I was at a crossroads where I could choose to stay in a relationship that I was that I wasn't happy in or I could choose to move on and try and live my life.
'And then when you move on and try and live your life, other opportunities and other things arise and like this was just something that happened.'
The Flip Reverse hitmaker added that his estranged wife was initially 'shocked' when he broke the news to her, but soon 'accepted' it after realising that it was her actions that 'led' them to this point.
On the potential backlash he could get for joining the dating show while still married, a defiant Marcel insisted that he won't feel bad about moving on with his love life during the lengthy divorce process.
He said: 'Divorce can take a while, but if I'm not with someone and I'm not in a relationship with that person, is it fair for me to be like "oh cool. I'm not going to do anything for like the next year and a half or two years, whatever it is, until my divorce is filed for me to move on and start living my life again?"

'Me and Rebecca aren't together. We're both at a point where we're like, you know what? The marriage broke down, we need to move on. I don't feel like I should be scrutinised for moving on with my life because it's just something that people need to do.'
Meanwhile, at 39, Marcel will be the oldest islander to set foot in the villa, but the performer insists that's 'not an issue' as there should be no age limits on finding happiness.
When asked on the possibility of being matched with a much younger lady (the largest possible age gap being 15 years if paired with 24-year-old Catherine Agbaje), Marcel shared: 'It's Love Island: All Stars so I feel like everyone that's been on the show is gonna be older than they were when they first were first on the show.
'Like I guarantee there's probably going to be people that are in their 30s. I'm in my 30s. Girls like an older man so I mean, if there's a girl who's like 32 or 33, me being 39 is not really going to be a drastic age difference is it?'
Love Island: All Stars returns Monday 13th January at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
