If you've been in the market for an affordable smartwatch, Fitbit's Versa 4 is on sale for a competitive $129 -- $70 off the regular price. Fitbit is one of the staple fitness and smartwatch brands, having been around for years before many of its competitors hit the market.

As such, the Versa 4 is not necessarily a new model, but it is definitely a popular one. This one has over 16,000 reviews on Amazon, with a 4.5 star rating. The reason for this is just its feature set relative to price, and Fitbit's app, which is one of the better fitness trackers.

So what kinds of features are we talking here? All the basic health metrics are covered: 24/7 heart rate, GPS, sleep tracking and daily readiness scores, 40+ exercise modes, stress management, menstrual health tracking, mindfulness and meditation content, and more.

Part of this is due to the maturity of the Fitbit app, which has been around long enough to improve on many of these features. The physical form of the watch follows suit. It's modest but durable, measuring 40.5mm by 40.5mm by 12.3mm with rounded-off corners.

The Versa 4 sports a responsive full color touchscreen and, on the solid aluminum surround, a touch-sensitive button. The heart rate sensor on the underside and although Fitbit doesn't use IP ratings, the company says that both devices are water-resistant up to a depth of 50m.

In terms of battery life, the Versa 4 will easily get up to six days, but with continuous GPS on, it only lasts around 12 hours straight -- something to be mindful of if you plan on taking the watch off-grid for an extended period of time. In that sense, this is better for outdoor activities in the neighborhood or at the gym; I wouldn't bring it camping for multiple days at a time.

The Versa 4 has plenty of smartphone integration, including call, text, and app notifications, plus tons of clock faces for added personalization. Other than that, you can take on-wrist Bluetooth calls, utilize the built-in Alexa, Google Wallet, and Maps.

When you buy the Versa 4, you'll also get a free six-month membership to Fitbit's premium plan, which includes personalized insights, advanced analytics, and guided programs.

The watch comes in three colorways: Black, Pink Sand, and Waterfall Blue, which is more of a blueish gray.

How I rated this deal

I am rating this deal a 3/5 since it isn't the newest smartwatch, but it is still a great value. The Versa 4 has been around long enough to gain a loyal fanbase, and that's saying something in a wearables market that welcomes a new watch every few months.
