Lloyd Braun, Sarah Bremner & Noah Oppenheim Launch Indie Film & TV Production Studio

Industry vets Lloyd Braun, Sarah Bremner and Noah Oppenheim have announced the launch of Prologue Entertainment, an independent production studio.

The indie studio, with financial backing from Jeff Zucker and RedBird Capital, will develop and produce premium scripted series and film content.

Upcoming projects include:  

  • Zero Day (Netflix) starring Robert De Niro: A six-episode series co-created, and executive produced by Oppenheim, Eric Newman and New York Times reporter Michael S. Schmidt. The series will debut on February 20, 2025.    
  • Untitled Kathryn Bigelow Film (Netflix): Now in post-production, the film is written by Oppenheim and directed by Kathryn Bigelow.   
  • The Root of All Evil (Atomic Monster/Blumhouse): A psychological thriller based on Ravi Somaiya’s reporting on an exorcism in Mexico City. Sean Tretta is adapting.  
  • Trapped: A female survival thriller, screenplay by Jill Blankenship. Named to the 2024 Black List earlier this week.  

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Jeff Zucker and RedBird to launch Prologue Entertainment,” said Braun, Bremner and Oppenheim in a statement. “Together, we aim to create compelling fictional films and series, often drawing inspiration from real-world characters and events resulting in projects that both entertain and engage.” 

RedBird’s investment will be overseen by Zucker, Operating Partner at RedBird.  

“My investment philosophy has always been driven by working with the best in the business. Lloyd, Sarah and Noah are prime examples of that, and they fit into our growing portfolio well,” said Zucker. “We know that premium, quality storytelling and content is what matters, and that’s what we are already focused on producing at Prologue Entertainment.”  

Braun previously served as Chairman of ABC Entertainment Television Group, where he oversaw the development of series including LostDesperate HousewivesThe BachelorGrey’s Anatomy, and Jimmy Kimmel Live. He went to become Head of the Yahoo! Media Group, overseeing all of Yahoo!’s media properties and later founded the media companies BermanBraun and Whalerock Industries. Most recently, he served as chairman of WME, until his exit in 2022.

Bremner most recently served as President of Ava DuVernay’s ARRAY Filmworks where she oversaw a Film and TV slate including Ramin Bahrani’s Oscar-nominated The White Tiger, as well as Colin in Black & White (Netflix), DMZ (HBO Max), Naomi (CW), and Queen Sugar (OWN). Prior to ARRAY, the UK-born Bremner spent five years at Netflix’s Original Film group, leading the development and production of titles such as Ma Rainey’s Black BottomThe Two PopesRebeccaProject Power, and Bright.

Screenwriter and media exec Oppenheim most recently served as President of NBC News, where he led the division’s editorial and business operations, digital platforms, and global bureaus. He is the co-creator and showrunner of Netflix’s Zero Day, starring Robert De Niro, premiering February 20, 2025, and writer of the untitled Kathryn Bigelow film (Netflix, 2025). He wrote the Oscar-nominated Jackie, winning Best Screenplay at the Venice Film Festival, and co-wrote The Maze Runner trilogy, which grossed nearly $1 billion worldwide.
