A new action-packed NCIS: New York trailer reveals a deeply personal case for Sam Hanna (LL Cool J).

The newest NCIS show brings NCIS Senior Agent and former Navy SEAL Hanna back to New York City after serving in the Office of Special Projects in Los Angeles. The character was first introduced in the NCIS flagship series, setting him up to be one of the main characters in the NCIS: Los Angeles spinoff that ran for 14 seasons, and he has also appeared in NCIS: Hawai'i. Back in his hometown, he has now teamed up with a "roguish" partner, Nick Schaeffer (Scott Caan).

The NCIS: New York season 1 teaser trailer opens with narration describing Hanna's extensive history in the field that "writes his own ticket." This is followed by shots of him "being out in the wild" as he slams an individual against the wall and punches them. Hanna and Schaeffer quickly develop a comfortable banter between them before they bust down doors and fire their weapons. A promise also comes from Hanna about not stopping until he learns the truth, and Schaeffer celebrates his new partner having come home. Check out the trailer below:

The cast of NCIS: New York also features Jennifer Beals as Robin Wells, the director of the NCIS New York field office, Jacqueline Byers as NCIS Special Agent Addison "Addy" Ross, Shane Harper as NCIS Special Agent Wyatt Hill, and Devin Druid as NCIS tech specialist Sean Sullivan. The series was created by R. Scott Gemill, who was an executive producer on NCIS: Los Angeles. Gemmill and LL Cool J are executive producers of the new spinoff alongside Byron Balasco, who serves as the showrunner.

As part of the CBS fall 2026 schedule, NCIS: New York releases new episodes on Tuesday nights from 9:00-10:00 p.m. ET. It is part of the franchise's three-hour block on Tuesdays, with NCIS season 24 airing from 8:00-9:00 p.m. ET and NCIS: Origins season 3 from 10:00-11:00 p.m. ET. Last year, Origins season 2 ran from 9:00-10:00 and NCIS: Sydney season 3 came next from 10:00-11:00, but Sydney is slated to premiere during network television's midseason point this year.
