Lizzo shows off her incredible weight loss as she and Teyana Taylor lead the glam stars at 2026 BET Awards in LA

Lizzo showed off her dramatic weight loss in an eye-catching look as she and Teyana Taylor led stars at the 2026 BET Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday. 

The 38-year-old songstress, who has been flaunting her slimmer frame after reaching her weight loss goal, turned heads on the red carpet as she joined other celebrities such as Coco Jones and Jaafar Jackson. 

The event took place at the Peacock Theater while Druski took on hosting duties for the first time. 

Lizzo wowed wearing a shimmering brown dress that contained sheer material that fell down past her ankles. 

The Truth Hurts singer slipped into a pair of closed-toed heels and allowed her voluminous locks to flow down past her shoulders. 

The star accessorized the gown with a pair of earrings as well as flashy rings on each of her hands. 

Lizzo's makeup was glammed up for the special evening and comprised of a smoky shadow around her eyes and a layer of mascara to her lashes. 

A warm blush and highlighter was added to her cheekbones for a radiant glow, while a nude-colored tint was worn on her lips for a final touch. 

The music artist showed off her ensemble for the big night as she paused for a brief photo session on the red carpet. 

Lizzo was one of the performers during the awards ceremony which 'honors the individuals who contribute to Black culture as writers, musicians, filmmakers, philanthropists and more,' per the official website. 

Lauryn Hill was honored with the Living Legend Icon Award while Teyana Taylor received the Icon of the Year Award. 

And the Ultimate Icon Award went to record executive Sylvia Rhone. 

Lizzo herself is no stranger to the awards show and won the BET Award for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist back in 2020. 

The Good As Hell hitmaker has garnered five separate nominations over the years at the annual ceremony. 

Lizzo has been candid with her fans about her 'weight release' journey which began in 2023. 

She previously opened up about the topic during an episode of the On Purpose With Jay Shetty podcast. The songstress explained that she did not want to 'lose anything' but instead wanted to 'win.' 

'I want to be very intentional about the words that come out of my mouth because there's young people who are watching me and they're experiencing what I'm putting into the world.

The star added, 'They're applying it to their own experience and their own life just like I did when I was a kid.'

Lizzo also got candid about 'how the media treated people who gained and lost weight' had an effect on her 'brain chemistry.'

'Be careful with your words because it can affect somebody in ways you don't even know.'

The performer added, 'Even me releasing the weight has affected people and I take that seriously. I take that responsibility. And because of that I want to transmute it into something that makes people feel comfortable and less afraid of it.'

Other stars made a glamorous appearance at the festivities such as Teyana Taylor who wowed in a strapless burgundy gown. 

The ensemble was made of a full skirt that contained layered fabric and a shimmering piece was added at the front of the bodice.

A matching headpiece was placed over her long locks and had additional material that flowed down behind her. 

Kehlani made a statement in a fitted red dress that clung to her figure. The outfit contained ruched details around the neckline and lower waist for a unique flare. 

The singer's dark hair was parted in the middle and cascaded down her back in light waves. 

Kehlani opted for minimal accessories to allow the dress to be the main focal point and added silver rings on each of her hands. 

Latto strutted with confidence onto the red carpet in a sheer back gown that had a small train. 

The Lottery rapper added a pair of black bottoms underneath while black feathery details draped around her neck. 

The performer slipped into a pair of open-toed black heels and pulled back her locks into a sleek bun.

For a finishing touch, Latto added a dazzling silver necklace as well as matching earrings and a bracelet on her right wrist. 

Chloe Bailey dressed for the occasion in a figure-hugging dress that was made of black velvet and shimmering silver material.
