Australian basketball star Liz Cambage has had her fans doing a double-take after debuting a bold new look on social media.

The WNBL star, 34, shared a jaw-dropping gallery of photos to Instagram on Tuesday, in which she was seen confidently and elegantly modelling the new Rick Owens fashion line in Los Angeles.

Liz has said goodbye to her usual sporty streetwear and natural look, and now sports sleek leather micro-shorts, a distressed bomber jacket, and smoky gothic makeup, as she confidently strode through a high-fashion shoot.

The London-born athlete confidently modelled the stylish outfit in front of thousands of fans, giving them a glimpse of her bold new style.

Accessories including fringed black ankle boots, oversized leather jackets, and long leather gloves gave the shoot an edgy, high-fashion feel.

Her slicked-back wet hair and smoky eye makeup added to the dramatic effect, creating a look far removed from her usual style.

She captioned the gallery with some exciting words: 'Nothing but love for my Rick Owens family. Such an honour and blessing to be a part of Rick's extraordinary world once again.'

Many of Liz's followers took to the comments section to share their appreciation over her new look.

'Omggg!!! You LOOK AMAZING!!' one person wrote and a second added: 'Yessss.'

Liz is known for her love of eye-catching fashion and beauty, and was spotted getting a skin treatment in Melbourne in 2024, after winning her first Women's Chinese Basketball Association championship with the SiChuan Yuanda team.

Back in April 2024, she courted controversy once again by getting ejected from a game in China for viciously elbowing one opponent in the head and hitting another in the face.

Despite being thrown out of the game, Liz was far from done.

After refusing to leave the court while trying to get officials to review the incident on video, she stormed up to a referee in a menacing way and screamed in his face, before mocking the crowd and delivering a curtsy.

The former WNBA player and Australian Opal found her career on the rocks after allegedly making racial remarks toward the Nigerian national team in a warm-up match before the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.

Opals teammates and members of the Nigerian team alleged Liz called her opponents 'monkeys' and told them to 'go back to your third world country' during a break in play

That put her offside with her Los Angeles Sparks Nigerian-American teammates and she was ultimately released by the franchise.

Her comments also divided the Opals camp and she has since been blacklisted from ever representing her country again.

However, she hit the jackpot when she secured a contract with Sichuan Yuanda, with the team paying her a rumoured $ 1million for three months' work that ended with them winning the Women's Chinese Basketball Association championship in 2024.
