Lisa Wilkinson and Peter FitzSimons have quietly taken a multimillion-dollar hit on the sale of their sprawling Sydney estate, newly released settlement documents reveal.
The veteran media couple sold their landmark Cremorne mansion, Ingleneuk, for $23 million after post-auction negotiations — $1.5 million below the $24.5 million vendor bid placed at the property's private auction last September.
The pair had no doubt been hoping for a higher price, particularly after attracting interest from a wealthy buyer in the lead-up to the auction.
However, settlement documents show the eventual sale price matched the property's original $23 million price guide.
Wilkinson and FitzSimons first listed Ingleneuk in mid-August through veteran agent Brad Pillinger in conjunction with BlackDiamondz agents Moniku Tu and Jad Khattar.
The Arts and Crafts-style five-bedroom residence overlooks Sydney Harbour and sits on one of the North Shore's largest landholdings, occupying an enormous 3,214sqm block.

Built in 1903, the historic home quickly attracted nationwide attention, becoming the most-viewed property on realestate.com.au across Australia during the month it hit the market.
The couple purchased the prestigious estate in 1998 for just under $3 million.
It is understood the couple decided they didn't need the sprawling property after their three children moved out.
The impressive landholding was created after the couple acquired two adjoining lots that had previously been subdivided from the original 122-year-old estate, restoring it to its original size with double street frontage.
Over the years, they have hosted a wealth of Aussie celebrities at the property, including Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Hugh Jackman and Nigella Lawson.
Last year, the pair were slammed online over the staggering sum they were asking for the home.
Many online commentators criticised the disparity between the media power couple's wealth and their left-leaning political stances.

FitzSimons is a strong advocate for Australian republicanism, having previously chaired the Australian Republican Movement.
The mansion, in its original Edwardian condition, offers panoramic harbour and city views, and has retained all its remarkable features, including prominent eaves.
Wilkinson hired heritage architect Clive Lucas to restore some details of the sprawling home, including its original fence posts, fretwork and maid's bell.
It also features a sunroom, gourmet kitchen, library, multiple gas and wood fireplaces, leadlight doors and ornate timber flooring.
A heated pool and pavilion surrounded by Will Dangar-designed manicured gardens are also included.
