An insistent Lisa Rinna is putting to bed rumors her husband Harry Hamlin is gay - decades after a film he starred in sparked speculation about his sexuality.

Hamlin, now 74, was a rising star with leading man good looks when he signed on to portray Bart McGuire in the 1982 movie, Making Love, a film about a man who begins an affair with a married doctor (Michael Ontkean). Former Charlie's Angel Kate Jackson played his wife.

The film is considered trailblazing however led to questions about Hamlin's sexuality.

Now Rinna, 62, is striking down the rumors 'once and for all' in her new memoir, You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It.

'Let’s just clear this up one last time, once and for all: Harry’s heterosexual,' wrote Rinna - who has been married to Hamlin since 1997 and has two daughters with. 'He is not a gay man in any way, shape or form, not that there’s anything wrong with that.'

She was unaware of the rumor until joining the cast of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: 'I just figured b***hes will say anything to get my hackles up, so it never concerned me,' she said. 'My reaction was always more, "why you mad, boo?"'

Rinna wrote that 'every husband’s sexuality was questioned at some point on that show.'

'When you’re a good-looking man in Hollywood with a good sense of style, that adds up to "is he gay?"' she continued.

Hamlin's sexuality faced scrutiny following the release of Making Love, Rinna said.

'Mainstream films about gay men are still rare today, but back then it was unheard of,' she said.

But the movie was apparently detrimental to Hamlin's acting career.

Rinna claimed Hamlin was 'blacklisted for several years afterward' in Hollywood before finally booking a role with a major studio decades later.

However, Rinna is proud of her husband for appearing in the film - one which she previously described as 'groundbreaking.'

When announcing he had booked his first major role in years (the 2023 film 80 For Brady, in which he played Jane Fonda's love interest) - Rinna praised her husband on Instagram.
