Lil Jon is asking for privacy as reports of his son's disappearance hit the news.
Nathan Smith, the 27-year-old son of the rapper and record producer, was reported missing Tuesday, February 3, in his home state of Georgia. The Milton Police Department issued a missing person report for Nathan, known professionally as DJ Young Slade, via social media, noting that the "Turn Down for What" rapper's son was last seen in the area at 6 a.m. EST the same day "in the vicinity of Baldwin Dr./Mayfield Rd. in Milton."
Subject ran out of his house and has been missing since. Subject left on foot and does not possess a phone. He may be disoriented and in need of assistance. Family and friends are concerned for his safety.
Officials urged anyone with information to call 678-297-6300 or email Detective Sarah Moore at [email protected]. The report describes Nathan as having brown eyes, short black hair, a height of 5'9" and a weight of 150 pounds. A recent picture of Nathan can be seen below.
FacebookA rep for the rapper told People in a statement that "the family is asking for privacy at this time."
We are also asking for continued prayers for Nathan to come home safe. Thank you.
Nathan has been working as a DJ under the name, DJ Young Slade or just Slade. His latest single, "Feels," was released in March 2025. His most recent Instagram post, a photo of him with manager Lil Will and rapper Bow Wow at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, was shared on January 6. In a December post prior to that, Nathan can be seen alongside his famous dad, backstage at iHeartRadio's JingleBall in Atlanta.
Last year, Nathan appeared on MTV's Family Legacy. In an interview with The Quintessential Gentleman, he spoke about what it was like to grow up with Lil Jon as his dad.
It's dope to appreciate my dad, show respect, and just look at all the things he's done, and it's nice to get the torch passed down and do my own thing. Because it's like it comes from him, but also I'm definitely taking it and making it my own.
Lil Jon, whose real name is Jonathan Smith, shares Nathan with ex-wife, Nicole Smith. The pair married in 2004 before splitting amicably two decades later in February 2024, though the "Snap Yo Fingers" rapper says the pair separated two years prior.
Lil Jon went on to couple up with Jamila Sozahdah, a reality star from Hulu's Secrets & Sisterhood: The Sozahdahs, with whom he shares a daughter, Nahara.
