Leonardo DiCaprio and his father join Al Pacino, 84, for rare lunch date at private LA club

Leonardo DiCaprio rang in the holidays with a touch of cinematic flair, joining his father George DiCaprio, and none other than fellow Oscar legend Al Pacino for a Wednesday lunch date.

The matinee idol, 50, radiated good spirits as he treated his 81-year-old dad—who once famously founded a waterbed business—to a visit at the exclusive Bird Street Club in West Hollywood.

Keeping it casual yet effortlessly cool, the Titanic star, who recently sparked engagement rumors with girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti, sported a black T-shirt and gray pants

George exuded effortless charm in a crisp white shirt and black suit jacket, his trademark long white hair catching the attention of passersby. 

Pacino, 84, in his trademark all-black ensemble, shared a lively moment outside the club with George. 

The duo shared a hearty laugh before Leo escorted Pacino to his car, bidding George a cheerful goodbye, as described by witnesses. 

Though the lunch date was brief, it’s clear Leo and George share a strong bond.

Despite separating from Leo's mother, Irmelin Indenbirken, shortly after his birth, George played an active role in his son’s upbringing.

Once a struggling installer of asbestos and fireproof roofing, George pivoted to entrepreneurship with the launch of a waterbed business, aptly named Foggy Bottom.

But his creative streak didn’t stop there—he became a prominent figure in the underground comic scene, carving out a reputation as a writer, editor, and distributor.

Notably, he also guided young Leo through the early days of his acting career.

More recently, George made his own screen debut in Paul Thomas Anderson’s 2021 film Licorice Pizza, further cementing his flair for storytelling. 

Married to Peggy Ann Farrar since 1995, George originally met Irmelin in 1963 when she was studying to be a legal secretary in New York. 

The couple eventually tied the knot and moved to Los Angeles, but by 1974, when Irmelin was pregnant, their relationship was faltering. 

Still, they embarked on one last adventure to Florence, where a kick from baby Leo while admiring a Leonardo da Vinci painting at the Uffizi Gallery inspired Irmelin to name her son after the Renaissance master.

Back in Hollywood, George and Irmelin separated but maintained a close co-parenting setup, renting adjacent bungalows with a shared garden to raise Leo. 

Their unconventional arrangement didn’t faze the actor, who once said it 'never bothered me.'

While Leo made headlines last week attending Art Basel in Miami Beach, his rumored fiancée, 26-year-old Vittoria Ceretti, was notably absent. 

The couple, who’ve been linked since 2023, stirred speculation earlier this year when Vittoria sported a heart-shaped diamond ring during a romantic Italian getaway.

However, reports later revealed she’s owned the ring since 2022, well before her romance with the Hollywood star began. 

Still, the couple’s relationship keeps fans talking—just like Leo, who continues to be as fascinating off-screen as he is on it.
