Leighton Meester Says This Perfume "Instantly Lifts Your Mood"

Elizabeth Arden's First Fragrance Launch In 8 Years Is Finally Here & Perfect for SpringCourtesy of Elizabeth Arden

Just like the '90s, Elizabeth Arden's fragrances just made a major comeback. Today, this legacy beauty brand launched its first perfume in eight years with a campaign starring Leighton Meester. Eternal Aura is a floral amber perfume whose scent profile and journey is inspired by Elizabeth Arden herself and her legacy as founder, pioneer, and suffragette.

"I've been a fan of Elizabeth Arden since I was a little girl, and being part of such an iconic brand for the launch of Eternal Aura feels like a full circle moment," Leighton Meester said in a statement. "Eternal Aura is the kind of perfume that instantly lifts your mood and reminds you of your strength."

It was crafted by master perfumer Anne Flipo and senior perfumer Natasha Côté-Mouzannar. The scent features a unique rose and ambrette co-distillate (where the plants themselves are distilled together, instead of mixing the oils together) created exclusively for the brand. This makes it so the nose cannot separate the rose from the ambrette and vice versa, creating a full sensorial experience.

The fragrance also features notes of pink pepper, dragon fruit, and pink pear, which gives it that slightly fruity and light, second-skin musk at the start. Then, it blooms into the floral heart with magnolia and pink peony, alongside that rose-ambrette note. Once it completely dries on your skin, it goes deeper into a musk, tonka, and sandalwood warmth with a hint of rose.

The result? A lovely, feminine scent that sticks around but isn't overpowering. It's nostalgia in a bottle if you grew up with a mom with an Elizabeth Arden perfume collection (like I did), but it's definitely not an "old lady" smell. They honored the brand's legacy by creating a truly timeless scent, not one aimed at an older audience.
