Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Special DLC Arrives This Month

The Legend of Zelda is celebrating a genuinely staggering 40 years since its inception this year, and there are all sorts of exciting things going on that should help fans mark the occasion. The big arrival is obviously going to be the release of Ocarina of Time later this year, with a full reveal expected on that in the next month or so.

There are also plenty of physical releases coming down the pipeline, including a vinyl release of the Breath of the Wild soundtrack, that should draw in plenty of recent fans. At the same time, we might get news on what's to come next at some point, but while we wait for that, the Wilds era isn't quite ready to let go of the crown just yet.

Over on the official Nintendo website, you should be able to find the listing for one of their upcoming amiibos, Mineru's Construct. Players of Tears of the Kingdom will remember the construct from Tears of the Kingdom, with it able to serve as a highly customizable mount that players can specialize in a number of ways.

As with all amiibos, there are plenty of in-game benefits to scanning it, many of which are unique to the product. In Tears of the Kingdom, the big reward is the Mineru's Construct paraglider fabric, which unlocks as a custom appearance alongside random materials, weapons and other useful items.

You'll also be given a similar array of helpful items in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, while Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment players will not only get some free items, but the quality of their drops will generally be increased.

Perhaps the coolest bonus of all, though, comes from outside The Legend of Zelda as a franchise entirely. If you scan the amiibo into Animal Crossing: New Horizons, a snooty deer villager named Mineru will be summoned to your campsite. She has her own Mineru costume, her catchphrase is "construct," and her birthday falls on May 12, the original release date for Tears of the Kingdom.

The fun doesn't stop there for Legend of Zelda fans either, with the movie adaptation also proceeding smoothly by all accounts right now. The rumors of an additional 2D project coming in 2027 also continue to swirl, which means next year could be just as memorable, if all projects land as the developer intends.
