Lauren Sanchez steps out in a $7,000 designer jacket as she and husband Jeff Bezos return to Sydney's luxury Park Hyatt after whirlwind Harbour City getaway

Jeff Bezos and his wife Lauren Sanchez were spotted making a low-key return to their luxury Sydney hotel on Saturday after another day of sightseeing in the Harbour City.

The billionaire Amazon founder, 62, and former journalist Sanchez, 56, were seen walking side-by-side back to the exclusive Park Hyatt Sydney, which overlooks the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

Sanchez made a luxury fashion statement in a striking red Yves Saint Laurent cotton jacket worth an eye-watering $7,000.

She teamed the designer piece with relaxed navy cargo pants, white sneakers and wore her brunette locks pulled back into a ponytail, as the couple made their way through the hotel entrance.

Meanwhile, Bezos, the world's fourth richest man, kept things casual in a black baseball cap, dark hooded jacket, jeans and white sneakers as he closely trailed his wife.

The pair appeared relaxed during their Australian visit that saw them packing in some of Sydney's most iconic attractions before jetting out of the country on Sunday evening.

They previously surprised onlookers in Bondi Beach on Saturday when they were spotted enjoying lunch at Icebergs Dining Room and Bar.

The pair dined with Hollywood producer Brian Grazer, 75, and his wife Veronica Smiley Grazer, and Portfolio Manager for Capital Group, Carl Kawaja, at the famous eatery.

Sanchez dressed casually for the outing, showing off her cleavage in a plunging black tank top underneath a pale blue shirt, teamed with denim jeans and a Celine leather belt.

Meanwhile, Bezos also went low-key in a white T-shirt under a beige zip-up windbreaker and jeans. 

The Bezoses were spotted again on Sunday, this time at the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge, where they donned safety suits and harnesses to join three others, including the Grazers, in a group climb of the landmark.

Flight-tracking data from Jeff Bezos' Jets, a page on the social platform Bluesky, claimed Bezos and Sanchez touched down in Sydney on an $80 million Gulfstream G700 private jet at 1.15pm on Friday afternoon.

The jet is the most luxurious Gulfstream offers, able to host up to 19 people across five living areas, with a range of 14,353km. 

It is understood they flew into Sydney after spending three days in Fiji.

After they touched down in Sydney, the pair dined at Mimi's, an upscale restaurant in Coogee.

Diners told the Sydney Morning Herald they were preceded by a group of bodyguards, who remained close by as the couple enjoyed their meal.

Bezos stepped down from his position as CEO of Amazon in mid-2021.

He remains its executive chairman.

Amazon's Web Services division operates 13 data centres in Australia, most of them located in Sydney.

Since handing the CEO position to Andy Jassy, Bezos has devoted most of his attention to his rocket company, Blue Origin.

The aerospace manufacturer is the main rival to fellow American billionaire Elon Musk's own space company, SpaceX.

Blue Origin's low-orbit satellite arm won a contract with NBN Co to provide internet to rural and regional Australia last year.

The deal will replace the network's own ageing Sky Muster satellites.

Bezos' last reported trip to Sydney was in 2016 when he toured local Amazon sites.

His most recent trip to Australia with his wife appeared to be a fleeting one, as flight records show that one private jet associated with the world's fourth richest man departed Sydney Airport on Sunday evening, flying over Far North Queensland before heading east across the Pacific Ocean.
