Lady Gaga's plan to protect baby Rose's 'inner circle' and give her a 'normal childhood' despite pop star life

Lady Gaga became a first-time mom less than four months ago, and she's putting plans in motion to ensure her baby girl has a 'normal childhood.'

The Poker Face singer, 40, and her fiancé, Michael Polansky, 43, welcomed daughter Rose Bean Polansky via surrogate on June 9, according to the birth certificate obtained by TMZ.

Since then, Gaga has been embracing motherhood and relishing a quiet, low-key life away from the Hollywood spotlight.

The couple have been 'enjoying their little family bubble,' a source told Page Six.

'They've started taking Rose on little outings together, but for the most part, they're keeping things very private.'

After her Mayhem Ball tour ended in April, Gaga retreated from the public eye to an extremely private home in Marin County, California, to nest.

While she's built her massive career on her chameleon image and performance art, Gaga has reached a 'whole new level now that she's a mom,' the source revealed.

The superstar is 'fiercely protective of her daughter and very particular about who she allows into their inner circle and around the baby.

'She wants Rose to have as normal a childhood as possible, away from all the attention that comes with her fame.'

The insider continued: 'Gaga has always been such a strong, powerful woman, but becoming a mom has brought out this incredibly soft, emotional side of her.

'She's embracing every moment of it, and the people closest to her can see just how much this new chapter means to her.'

After working in the industry for two decades, her priorities have shifted and family comes first.

'She's loving the quieter moments at home and just getting to spend time with her daughter,' the source said, adding: 'Having this time to focus on her family has been incredibly special.'

Gaga and Polansky 'beam when they talk about being parents,' a source previously told People.

The insider added that 'Michael seems lighter, happier,' and that the couple 'both took time off work this summer to be with [the] baby.'

Earlier this month, Gaga was pictured with her baby arriving in Los Angeles after news broke that she and the entrepreneur and venture capitalist had welcomed their first child.

At the time, the Born This Way hitmaker was carrying her baby in a light-colored sling.

Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, has spoken many times about her desire to become a mom.

'I would like to do many things. All of these things are open. But what I really want is to be is a mom. That's my next starring role, I hope,' she said during an October 2025 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

And in March 2020, the 16-time Grammy winner told InStyle: 'I will say I am very excited to have kids. I look forward to being a mom. Isn't it incredible what we can do? We can hold a human inside and grow it. Then it comes out, and it's our job to keep it alive.'

Gaga also spoke about her wishes for her future children, telling ELLE: 'Family - it's like the roots of the tree. They grow long, and sometimes they're mangled, and sometimes they're full of water, and sometimes they're thirsty.

'Family is what makes you who you are, and it also defines your need for change.

'I would want my children to understand that whatever my artistry means to them is totally up to them. I would never actually want to shape it or tell them how to think about me.

'Maybe other than that, I just did my best. And tried to stay true to myself along the way. That

'That's something Michael and I have talked about a lot - allowing our kids to be their own people.

'It's such an intense thing for kids coming into the world. And they're told how to think and what to believe in and how to eat... I just kind of want to let my kids find out who they are.

The native New Yorker and Polansky were first linked in 2020 when they were photographed kissing at a New Year's Eve party in Las Vegas.

They made their relationship Instagram official after being spotted together at the 2020 Super Bowl in Miami.

The pair quarantined together during the COVID-19 pandemic, and in July 2024, Gaga revealed that she was engaged to Polansky when she introduced him as her 'fiance' to then-French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
