Lachie Neale and his ex-wife Jules Neale each made a trip to their local tattoo shop this past week.

The AFL star and his former partner, separately, by coincidence, got new ink, with Jules adding a fine-line rose to her upper arm.

While Jules was being tattooed at the Perth location Myca Ink, Lachie was at Brisbane's Ten Ten Tattoo Studio updating his existing Brisbane Lions tribute.

Under the team's emblem, he added the years '2025' and '2026' under his '2024' tattoo, to represent his club's three premierships.

In a video shared on Instagram, Jules first joked that she was getting a 'midlife crisis tattoo', but then explained the meaning behind the rose.

Jules and her heavily-inked younger brother got a matching rose tattoo, which Jules said symbolised 'growing through life together'.

She said she 'loved the placement' and found the ink 'so cute' that she had already booked in for another tattoo.

'Cool, now I want ten more,' she wrote in her caption alongside the video.

It comes after Jules had a tattoo she dedicated to her ex-husband removed after the deterioration of their marriage.

In June, she took another step in the 'next chapter' and has since moved back to Perth to find her 'forever home' along with restarting her career as a hairdresser.

In a video shared on Instagram, Jules was seen visiting a laser removal clinic to get rid of her tribute to Lachie.

The ink originally had a place on the outside of her hand but that is no longer the case as she continues to move on from her broken marriage.

Jules has taken a number of steps in recent weeks and months to continue to distance herself from her marriage.

She returned to her hometown of Perth with the couple's four-year-old daughter Piper and one-year-old son Freddie when the marriage broke down in November.

Jules, 36, and Lachie, 33, split back in November 2025.

The former couple met while Lachie was playing for the Fremantle Dockers before switching to the Queensland team in 2019.

Lachie has moved on with his new girlfriend Emma Field, 29.

The couple have made a series of increasingly public outings as Emma cements her place as the AFL's hottest new entry in the WAG rankings.

In their latest show of affection, the footballer had his partner by his side as he arrived back home after the Lions won the 2026 AFL Grand Final.
