Kylie Jenner was left 'weeping' after revealing to daughter Stormi, 8, why the Kardashians are famous

Kylie Jenner got 'emotional' while revealing the origin of the Kardashian-Jenner clan's fame to her daughter Stormi.

The makeup mogul, 28, recalled the experience while appearing on this week's episode of the Big Bro with Kid Cudi podcast.

Jenner explained to Stormi that the family's TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians is what catapulted them to stardom back in 2007 - avoiding any mention of half-sister Kim Kardashian's infamous sex tape.

'I sat her down, and I'm like, "We started a television show when I was a year older than you, and that's why we're all in this together,"' Jenner recalled.

'[Stormi] was like, "Can I watch it?" And I'm like, "Sure."' 

Jenner went on to show Stormi, who she shares with ex Travis Scott along with son Aire, four, an episode of the E! series - which left her 'weeping' unexpectedly.

'I was so emotional after,' Jenner told host Kid Cudi. 'I don't know what hit me, but I was weeping in my bed. I don't know why that happened to me.' 

Jenner was just nine years old when she first appeared on Keeping Up With The Kardashians with sisters Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall Jenner.

'I was just like, maybe it's my daughter being the same as I was [or] just seeing my family and I'm, just feeling so grateful for all that we've built, but also mourning that closeness when we were all kind of living under the same roof.

'It was very emotional,' she added. 'I didn't know it was going to hit me like that.'  

Jenner virtually grew up in front of an audience of millions as Keeping Up With The Kardashians ran on E! for 14 years from 2007 to 2021.

The show gave fans a glimpse at the blended Kardashian-Jenner clan's wild family life as Kim forged her own Hollywood career in the aftermath of her leaked sex tape.

The family, including Caitlyn Jenner, Rob Kardashian and Kris Jenner, filmed 20 seasons before signing on for a new show, The Kardashians, with Hulu in 2022.

The Kardashians aired its seventh season in late 2025 and an eighth is expected to premiere sometime this year.

In the same interview, Jenner admitted that she has fears about how her family's ever-growing fame will impact her children as they get older.

'When Stormi turns 15, I don't know how I'm going to handle it,' she said. 'We don't know how [fame] is going to affect them, and it's really scary.'

In the meantime, Jenner said she is trying to stay 'grounded' for her children.

'I have my family. I have my kids that I go home to that love me so much and have no idea what's going on in this world,' she said. 

'They definitely keep me grounded,' she added. 

Elsewhere in the podcast, Jenner provided rare remarks on her romance with Oscar nominee Timothee Chalamet.

She's been dating the 30-year-old actor since 2023 following her split from on/off boyfriend and baby daddy Travis Scott in 2022. 

Jenner was asked about her favorite movie of Chalamet's by host Kid Cudi.

'That's hard for me because I really love them all,' she said before deciding her favorite was Call Me By Your Name. 

Armie Hammer costarred in the drama about a teen named Elio Perlman who spends time with his family at their 17th-century villa in Lombardy, Italy. He then meets Oliver, a handsome doctoral student who's working as an intern for Elio's father and passion takes over.

Jenner also expressed her love for Chalamet's Dune movies adding that she's excited for the upcoming Dune 3.
