Kylie Jenner just debuted a new take on the French manicure, and it's perfect for minimalists looking for something a little funky.
On July 26, Jenner gave fans a closer look at her latest manicure in a photo carousel on Instagram. Her new set has a neutral base color with a crisp white tip accented by two thin, curved black stripes, creating the look of a triple French. The design, which her longtime manicurist Zola Ganzorigt dubbed a "twisted French," keeps the classic feel but adds a subtle graphic element that's both modern and understated.
Ganzorigt, known for her work with stars like Hailey Bieber and Sabrina Carpenter, is the mastermind behind many of Jenner's most memorable nail moments. The duo has a history of reimagining the French manicure, from pink-on-pink tones to blue studded tips. Last summer, they even added tiny painted insects to green French tips for a garden-inspired set. But this "twisted" version feels especially current: clean, cool, and wearable, while still offering a fresh visual punch.
It also arrives at the peak of what can only be described as the French manicure renaissance. Once considered outdated, the French tip has exploded back into the spotlight over the past couple years — and not just in its original form. Spinoffs like the baby, inverted (AKA "reverse"), naked, and double-lined French manicures have taken over our feeds, embraced by stars like Megan Thee Stallion, Lizzo, and Dua Lipa. The French mani has become less of a style and more of a design category in itself.
Unlike some of Jenner's more elaborate nail looks, this "twisted French" design is relatively simple to recreate at home or at a local salon. With a neutral base like OPI Bubble Bath ($15) and thin black polish or gel, like the RARJSM Nail Art Gel Liner from Amazon ($9), you can replicate the manicure with minimal effort, making it an easy summer upgrade for anyone who wants a classic nail with a cool-girl spin.
