Prince Edward Addresses Epstein Scandal Amid Prince Andrew Controversy

King Charles III is making his position clear.

The 77-year-old British monarch expressed that he would cooperate with any investigation into his brother former Prince Andrew—now known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor—as more details about his alleged interactions with Jeffrey Epstein come to light amid the release of files surrounding the late convicted sex offender, his extensive social network and criminal activities.

"The King has made clear, in words and through unprecedented actions, his profound concern at allegations which continue to come to light in respect of Mr Mountbatten-Windsor’s conduct," a Buckingham Palace spokesperson said in a Feb. 9 statement obtained by ITV News. "While the specific claims in question are for Mr Mountbatten-Windsor to address, if we are approached by Thames Valley Police we stand ready to support them as you would expect."

"As was previously stated," the statement continued, "Their Majesties’ thoughts and sympathies have been, and remain with, the victims of any and all forms of abuse."

Charles' statement of support for the victims follows a similar sentiment expressed by his son Prince William and wife Kate Middleton.

"I can confirm The Prince and Princess have been deeply concerned by the continuing revelations," a Kensington Palace spokesperson shared in a statement obtained by MS NOW Feb. 9. "Their thoughts remain focused on the victims."

Charles and wife Queen Camilla previously expressed their support for victims of Epstein back in October when they, stripped Andrew of his royal titles and removed him his royal residence at the Royal Lodge back in October.

"His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew,” Buckingham Palace wrote in an Oct. 30 statement. “Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor."

"His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence,” the statement continued. “Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation."

Since then, Andrew—who settled a sexual abuse lawsuit brought upon by the late Epstein accuser Virginia Guiffre in 2022—relocated to a home on the royal family’s privately-owned Sandringham estate. As for any accusations against him, he has continued to deny the allegations, though he admitted in October that they were a distraction within the royal family.

He concluded his statement, “As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me.”

Marius Borg Høiby, Son of Norway's Crown Princess, Arrested Ahead of Rape Trial

Marius Borg Høiby—the eldest son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit and step-son of Crown Prince Haakon—was arrested Feb. 1 for assault, threats with a knife and violation of a restraining order, Oslo police confirmed in a statement to The Associated Press.

The 29-year-old—who does not carry a royal title or official duties—is being kept in detention for up to four weeks over risks of reoffending after the Oslo district court granted the request. His attorney Petar Sekulic told the outlet that they are considering appealing the decision.

Høiby is expected in court Feb. 3 as part of a separate indictment regarding four alleged rapes between 2018 and 2024, as well as two alleged acts of violence against a partner and violating a restraining order.

His defense team addressed the allegations in a statement to the AP, saying that Høiby "denies all charges of sexual abuse, as well as the majority of the charges regarding violence."
