Kim Kardashian Reveals Final Texts From Grandma MJ Shannon

Kim Kardashian is sharing insight into her grandma's final days.

One day after Kris Jenner's mom Mary Jo "MJ" Shannon died at age 91, the SKIMS founder revealed some of last text messages she received from her grandma prior to her passing.

A screenshot posted to Kim's Instagram Stories July 17 featured messages sent in an "Entire OG family" group chat, in which Kris, 70, inspired her family through daily Bible verses.

The first quote Kris sent read, "Psalm 90:17 Lord our God, may your blessings be with us. Give us success in all we do," to which MJ replied, "Amen."

The following day, Kris wrote, "Psalm 91:1 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find protection in the shadow of the Almighty."

MJ—also grandma to Kourtney Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Rob Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner—subtly reacted to her daughter's message with a praying emoji.

As for the third and final verse Kris sent to the group on Monday, the message centered on a person being supported during tough times.

"Isaiah 63:9 In his love and mercy he redeemed them," Kris shared, "he lifted them up and carried them through all the years."

A few hours later, MJ sent her reply, writing, "Amen."

As the Kardashian-Jenner family continues to mourn its beloved matriarch, they are reflecting on all of the life lessons they learned from MJ and the sweet memories they shared.

"My sweet Grandma MJ, my best friend, my gossip buddy, my forever twin," Kim wrote in an Instagram July 16, alongside family photos from over the years. "You taught all of us the importance of family, and those values are something we’ll carry with us forever!!!!!"

While announcing the news of MJ's death in a touching Instagram tribute, Kris described her late mother as "the heart of our family," emphasizing that "she taught us that family is everything."

"Our hearts are broken, but we find comfort knowing that love like yours never truly leaves us," she added. "Your love will live on in our family, in our traditions, in every moment we are together, and in every life you touched."
