Khloe Kardashian fires back at Lamar Odom after he calls her a 'liar' on Today show: 'I feel dumb and played'

Khloe Kardashian slammed her ex-husband Lamar Odom after he appeared to discredit her during a recent interview following her appearance in his new Netflix documentary.

The 41-year-old reality star made a rare cameo in Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom, where she spoke candidly about their turbulent marriage and the harrowing aftermath of Odom's 2015 near-fatal overdose

In the documentary, Khloe reveals how she called off their divorce to stay by his side and support his recovery after he was found unresponsive at a brothel outside Las Vegas.

However, following the documentary's release, Odom, 46, took issue with several of Khloe's claims.

In a bombshell April 6 interview on the Today show, he disputed details of the overdose, including Kardashian's claim that his father Joe Odom told her not to put him 'on life support' - something he firmly rejected, insisting he could 'never, ever' imagine his father saying that.

Even more controversially, Odom credited his recovery to divine intervention rather than his ex wife's care, leading the reality star to respond on her podcast Khloe in Wonder Land on Wednesday.

'I feel so dumb,' she admitted, adding she was 'pissed that I’m even involved' in the documentary at all.

Kardashian opened up about her frustrations, explaining, 'I think what's pissing me off is, we did this, all good. I was done with this. I'm like, I'm never going to do another Lamar thing again, 'cause I'm all good.

'But now Lamar is doing press [and saying he's] annoyed with me. Claiming or insinuating that I'm a liar, all these things, discrediting me, saying that I wasn't the one that helped him.'

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star revealed that Lamar and his team initially reached out to her about appearing in the documentary, something she spent months 'contemplating' before agreeing to.

'I said, "I want to make sure this is a positive piece. I don't really want to go down this road if it's negative. He's been through enough,"' she explained.

According to Kardashian, everyone reassured her that it would be a positive portrayal.

'Everyone was like, 'No, it's amazing. It's going to be really positive. He's the one doing it. He's the one asking,'' she said.

Even Netflix stepped in, telling her they couldn’t 'finish [the doc] without [her],' which ultimately led her to give her consent.

'I willingly do the Netflix thing for Lamar. I'm not getting paid one penny to do this. I have no dog in this fight. It doesn't matter to me if this documentary is made or not made. I don't care.

'And it's also not something I really want to talk about anymore.'

Kardashian then expressed her disbelief at the situation: 'All I did was tell the story that I was asked by you to tell, but now to, like, play in my face and now to act like I didn't do any of the things I did and insinuate I'm a liar is crazy.'

She added, 'I feel played.'

The mom-of-two then got candid about how difficult it was for her to revisit the trauma of her marriage and Lamar’s struggles.

'Do people think I like talking about this all day long? No, it's traumatic,' she said.

'I would never expose someone that was not for me to expose. I kept all of that to myself for 11 years, or whenever that was. I was asked by Lamar to do this documentary. I did it for him.'

Kardashian believes Lamar may not have been prepared for the public reaction to the documentary and now seems to be trying to 'slander' her.

In the documentary, Kardashian recounts the harrowing moments following Odom’s overdose, including her visit to the hospital where she met with Lamar’s father Joe Odom after hearing the devastating news

'For years, he was singing my praises, all this. I don't even need you to sing my praises. But you're not now going to s--- on me or now play in my face because you don't like the reaction and the response from the public,' she said.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Odom's representatives for comment.

In the documentary, Kardashian recounts the harrowing moments following Odom’s overdose, including her visit to the hospital where she met with Lamar’s father Joe Odom after hearing the devastating news.

Odom has shared that, after his overdose, he survived 12 strokes and six heart attacks during his three-day coma.

Describing the scene at the hospital, Kardashian says in the documentary, 'So we get to the hospital. His dad was there. I assumed he thought he was now the beneficiary to Lamar.'

She continued, 'Joe said, "Don't put him on life support. Turn those machines off."'

She recalled the intensity of the moment, adding, 'And I remember walking in around that time, and I kid you not, it was a scene out of a movie.

'And I'm like, "Sorry Joe, I'm still his wife, what do you need?" And Joe wanted a pair of Nikes and $100 and a hotel room for the night, and Joe left and never came back.'

Kardashian then expressed her disbelief at the situation: 'All I did was tell the story that I was asked by you to tell, but now to, like, play in my face and now to act like I didn't do any of the things I did and insinuate I'm a liar is crazy,' (pictured in 2010)

However, during his appearance on Today, Odom strongly disagreed with Kardashian’s account of that conversation.

'I was knocked out and asleep at that time, but if you know Joe Odom, I don't think that's something that would ever come out of his mouth,' he remarked.

'He was my biggest fan. I don't know where there got caught - translated. I just can't see him ever, ever doing that.'

Odom was also asked on Today whether Kardashian played a part in saving his life.

His answer was measured: 'In some ways,' he replied. 'I think God saved my life. My Lord saved my life, honestly.'

While he acknowledged Kardashian’s care and support, he ultimately expressed that his recovery was a miracle in itself.

'She took care of me,' he said, before adding, 'God took care of me the most. What I came back from was like a medical miracle.'
