Kevin Bacon, 68, draws sharp contrast to goth son Travis, 37, in rare red carpet moment with wife Kyra Sedgwick, 61, in NYC

Kevin Bacon made a rare family red carpet appearance with wife Kyra Sedgwick and their son Travis Bacon on Wednesday.

The trio – Kevin, 68, Sedgwick, 61, and Travis, 37 – were in attendance at the Scary Movies XIV showcase at Lincoln Center in New York City, where they debuted their new film Family Movie.

Kevin drew a sharp contrast to his son, who towered over him, rocked jet black long hair, and showed off a sleeve tattoo on his arm.

Family Movie is a horror-comedy feature co-directed by the Footloose star and his wife, and it stars them alongside Travis, plus daughter Sosie, 34.

Kevin wrote in an Instagram post, 'It’s official!! #FamilyMovie will officially be releasing in theaters April 23, 2027! We can’t wait to share this with all of you. Stay tuned!'

Meanwhile, Sedgwick shared outtakes from the event, writing to her 1.2 million followers, 'NYC premiere of Family Movie at @filmlinc was gory good! Can’t wait for you to see it in theaters April 23.'

Sosie was absent from the premiere, but made sure to reshare promotional content on her personal Instagram account. 

According to Deadline, the forthcoming film 'follows a filmmaking family, the Smiths, and their low-budget horror movie which turns into a real-life slasher when a dead body shows up on set.

'Chaos ensues as the Smiths fight to keep the production on track.'

Social media personality and actress Liza Koshy teased involvement with the movie, sharing a promotional poster from Deadline and announcing, 'Not a spoiler: That's my body they're chucking. See you in theaters spring '27, fam.'

Wednesday's premiere coincided with Sedgwick's birthday, and her family members issued loving tributes to her online.

Her husband, whom she wed in 1988, uploaded a video montage and wrote, 'Happy birthday @kyrasedgwickofficial, to another year of loving you.'

The mom of two appeared in the comments to reply, 'Omgggg love this my love ❤️.'

For her part, Sosie shared a photo alongside her mother and said, 'Happy birthday my queen. Leo ♌️ warrior. Fierce and goofy. Always makes me giggle. Loyal. Always there for everyone she loves. She’s a goddess among us. We’re so lucky to have you, mommy.' 

Travis shared a throwback photo from the set of the 1992 film Singles, which showed him as a toddler, his mom, and her co-stars Matt Dillon and Cameron Crowe.

He playfully wrote, 'Happy Birthday Mom. Sorry I ruined the Singles poster shoot. Love you.'

Sedgwick acknowledged her special day in her own way, sharing present day and past red carpet photos of herself along with the caption, '61 years on this Earth today, and I’m grateful for every single one of them!'

Earlier this year, Kevin reflected on directing Family Movie with his wife.

He told People during the annual SXSW festival, 'It was a pretty familiar place to step back into, and to have my partner co-directing with me was just great because if I missed something or I slipped up or I forgot some detail, she was right there with it.'

The couple met in 1987 while co-starring on the TV movie Lemon Sky.
