Kelsea Ballerini and ex Chase Stokes shock on stroll together after second messy split as relationship status is revealed

Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes have had multiple messy breakups and even included each other's exes in the drama but the two seemingly can't stay away from one another.

The 32-year-old country singer and 33-year-old actor were seen catching up with one another as they enjoyed a walk along West Side Highway in New York City on Wednesday.

As they have split two times publicly no doubt the outing together has left fans wondering if they are back together, however, it has been said the two have not rekindled their romantic relationship.

Ballerini and Stokes are still on speaking terms and as they happened to be in the same city, the two decided to go on a walk together according to sources for TMZ. 

The two began dating in January 2023 before splitting in the fall of last year, however, they got back together at the beginning of this year before splitting again by February.

At the time of their most recent split, insiders for Daily Mail had declared that it was 'over' as they were engulfed in cheating rumors.

Ballerini's ex-husband Morgan Evans and Stokes's ex-girlfriend Madelyn Cline have also been involved in the drama.

Just last month Stokes and Evans continued their war of words which began when the former derided his ex-girlfriend's ex-husband's 'masculinity' in an Instagram comment which led to Evans returning with a humorous post flaunting  his ripped muscles as he took care of manual labor outdoors.

The 40-year-old Australian country singer posted a hilarious set of photos of himself lifting a mini fridge over his head and chopping wood this week in response to the attack on his manhood.

Evans seemed to get the last laugh with the post from early March, as he not only poked fun at Ballerini's ex-boyfriend, but he also managed to turn the post into album promotion by placing a vinyl copy of his upcoming LP in several of his photos. 

'Feeling pretty masculine today,' Evans wrote, alluding to Stokes's incensed comment. 'Album out in 2 weeks!'

Before that the Outer Banks actor called the musician 'pathetic' after the singer spoke about his divorce from Ballerini on Bobby Bones' The BobbyCast podcast in early March.

'This is about the most pathetic excuse of masculinity ive ever seen. Get a f***ing life,' Stokes wrote in a since-deleted comment on Instagram. 

During the interview Evans said he was 'not expecting that conversation' when Ballerini told him she wanted a divorce in 2022.

'I definitely wasn't [expecting it], and it took me by surprise,' Evans told Bones, 45.

'But yeah, that whole time is such a blur. It almost feels like somebody else, just from where I'm sitting now. I just look back and I’m like, "Oh my God." … Yeah, it was just kind of a whirlwind, life-changing moment.' 

Ballerini and Evans were married for nearly five years as they tied the knot in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico on December 2, 2017 before their divorce was finalized November 2022. 

Meanwhile, Stokes was in a high-profile romance with his Outer Banks co-star Madelyn Cline, 28, which began after filming Season One in 2019 and lasted just over a year. 

So, fans of the series were particularly shocked in February when Cline posted a selfie with Ballerini to her Instagram story. 

The women revealed they were hanging out as they covered their faces and appeared to be smiling in the photo posted on February 2.

Social media sleuths instantly took the cryptic post as a sign that Ballerini and Stokes were over for good, and speculated that the country singer was dishing about her breakup to Cline.

But the online back-and-forth is nothing new for Stokes and Ballerini, as much of the former couple's on-again, off-again relationship has played out publicly on social media.
