Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos & Son Joaquin Consuelos Make First Public Outing Together in 10 Years
Kelly Ripa was happy with her meal on Mother’s Day.
After all, the daytime talk show host said she had “a great time” eating McDonald’s on her special day instead of cooking with her husband Mark Consuelos and their youngest son Joaquin Consuelos, 23, who is currently starring in Death of a Salesman.
“Our youngest texted me from backstage—he’s on Broadway—it’s the funniest text I got,” Kelly explained on the May 11 episode of Live With Kelly & Mark. “He goes, ‘I thought it’d be fun if we had McDonald’s for your birthday.’ And I said, ‘Uhh, it's not my birthday.' And he goes, ‘I mean Mother's Day, you know what I mean!'”
“So, we had McDonald’s,” the 55-year-old continued with a big smile. “I had a Big Mac and large fries!”
And while Kelly—who famously eats two salads a day—noted the fast food meal was “so unlike us” and “hasn't happened in years and years,” she emphasized, “It was delicious. I had the best time.”
Plus, the All My Children alum—also mom to kids Michael, 28, and Lola, 24, with Mark—was giddy about how few dishes there were to clean.
“You know what cleanup was?” she added before mimicking tossing her dinner remains into a garbage can. “Trash! Done!”
Mark then quipped to his wife, “You got the plates out for some reason, I'm not sure why.”

Indeed, Kelly admitted, “I did, I put plates out on the table because I wanted to make it nice; it was Mother's Day. And then I just put them right back!”
As for any qualms the couple—who celebrated 30 years of marriage May 1—had with their happy meal?
“I have to say, the Quarter Pounder, I have to weigh that,” Mark said. “I'm not sure it's a Quarter Pounder.”
And Kelly agreed she could’ve used a bigger burger.
“Also, the Big Mac seems small too,” she said. “Maybe we're bigger and it used to seem bigger.”
It was indeed a rare occasion for the talk show host, whose typical diet includes a green juice for breakfast, a microgreens salad for lunch, nuts in the afternoon, a steamed vegetable salad for dinner and a dessert of either chocolate chia seed pudding or a healthy mousse made with avocado, vanilla extract, dates and raw cacao, according to her nutritionist.
